So What Happened?

Thanks so much for all of the responses and the advice. Nursing bras are so personal and I feel with things like those, it's great to go by word of mouth! Googling nursing bras brings up soo much info and so many great sites, but I just wanted to get some more "real" advice and find out what the other moms in my area were doing. Thanks Mommas!

I started out with some sleep bras from Destination Maternity because I just needed something. Once my milk came in, I bought some at Walmart and I've loved them!

I got mine at Walmart after going through many expensive nursing bras and different styles. I found that the one with just one snap works the best.

Supposedly Bravado makes the best nursing bras. I personally stocked up on the Gilligan Omally nursing tanks at Target. Good luck!

I bought mine at Presby Plano Hospital. They are located off of the Dallas North Tollway and Parker. There is a store in the hospital will all kinds of baby supplies, clothes and they can measure you for a bra too. I was told to get fit around 36 weeks. I was fit later because my baby was a premie.

Motherwear on the internet has a wide range of styles! The prices are great! I bought my daughter several styles. Soft cup, underwire, sleep.

I love my nursing bras from Motherhood Maternity! I also bought some at Target and hated them. I ended up wearing the Motherhood Maternity ones so much that I will need to replace them next time around. I definitely think the Motherhood Maternity ones are worth the $. Good Luck!

I prefer the camisol kind, they do not have the underwire and are comfy to sleep in. All the "regular" style nursing bras I bought from motherhood have worn out, the clasps have broken. So I have switched to the camisols, this way I can also wear regular camisols as well, just a size bigger.

I love the Bravado bras that I ordered online. I can't find them in any stores though. I also really like the nursing tanks I got at Target. They are great for sleeping.

I tried almost every nursing bra I could find with my first child (he's 4 now). I tried every one at motherhood maternity, target, walmart, and several on-line stores. However, I don't think I ever tried the bravado mentioned here. Finally I found Medella bras. It's the same company that makes the breast pump. I have 3 different styles and they are so comfortable I wore them the whole time I nursed (15months) and some time after, until my breasts went down in size and the bras were too big. I think it depends on how large your breasts are. A few of my "smaller" breasted friends seem to be pretty easy to please, they find bras often that they like. I was a DD to E and had a hard time finding ones that were comfortable. Now I'm 20 weeks pregnant with twins and have already outgrown my regular bras and I'm back in my old Medellas. The only place I've seen them is Babies R Us. When I bought them they were only on-line. So if Babies R Us doesn't have your size or you want another style go to www.medella.com. Good luck and congratulations!

I always used the ones from Kohl's that are the least expensive of the ones they carry...they're in the Maternity section of the store.

Hey K.,

Congrats on your new baby.

I have found my best nursing bras atmotherhood and motherwear (usually found in your local malls, but check the websites to verify locations). Also, have the store clerk measure you!

I also like the website www.expressiva.com, but the clothing runs a little smaller than normal.

Also, you can do a google search on nursing bras to find some more sites.

I would wait until after your milk comes in. With both of my kids, I've ended up much bigger than I would have expected while nursing. This time (I have a 7 week old) I had to order mine from Motherhood Maternity online b/c they don't carry my size in stores. I think Motherhood has the best prices. That's where I've always gotten my nursing bras. I looked at other websites this time, but I ended up back at Motherhood b/c they had my size (online only) and they are a good price.
