Opinion on Super Suppers

I am thinking about giving Super Suppers a try. The concept of Super Suppers really appeals to me because I am a mother of two young children and I work full time. However, before I invest in a dozen meals I want to make sure the quality is there and they taste good. If you have used Super Suppers before I would really like to hear your opinion. Thanks So Much!

Most of the places that I have tried have been really good. I think the one by me is at home diners. Anyway, they have the option to buy just one meal and have them make it. If Super Suppers have that then you could try a few of there entree and see if you like it. I've even been able to ask for extra hot and they did it for me. I paid like 50 cents or a dollar more for just one at a time where they make it. Hope this helps.

Hey K.,
I have used them on several occasions. I think they are just wonderful because they are so quick & easy, and better for you than fast food. Beware though, if you have picky eaters, pick and choose things that they will eat, they use odd spices sometimes, and my husband and father complains about it. I would recommend for sure doing it once at least. They do offer half meals for 3-4 and they offer 6 and 12 dinners, and they also offer grab and go, they are already prepared and about $10 each.

I've done Super Suppers! Really good! I did the 6 meals first because that seems like a lot of food to me. I would try the 6 meals first before diving into a committment of 12 meals. And you can even divide those 6 meals into 2 small dishes per meal. I really liked that because really it's only my husband and I eating these meals.... my 2 yr old still only eats chicken nuggets, etc.

Anyway...I really liked the chicken enchilada casserole (split that in 2 smaller portions); the pasta dishes; and there was one dish that I cooked in a slow-cooker and I pan-cooked the rosemary new potatoes separately! loved that meal and so did hubby!
Very good meals...I didn't like the London beef broil -- it had too much balsamic vinegar for my taste.

All the meals aren't necessarily "set and forget" type meals... some require some stove-top pan work....and I think most require you to defost that individual pan for a day or 2 in advance in the refrigerator. So you have to plan ahead, of course. But it's still way better than having to shop, dice, slice, mix, assemble, cook, bake, clean up... etc. all on your own in one night.

I thought it was worth it and 6 was really enough for us for one month because it seems like we still had some nights that were must-have pizza nights; or we wanted to eat out. anyway....feel free to ask me anymore questions. I plan on doing this again...but I just have to wait until next pay period!! And until I can have more freezer space! That's my biggest problem. ha!

Hi K....
I, too, am a full-time working mom of two - and taking care of a sick mother. I have used Super Suppers in The Colony several times, and it has been wonderful and SO convenient. The first time that I did it, I called and chose the entres that I wanted and they prepared them for me. I don't recommend this, because then it is prepared to someone else's taste rather than yours (ie: there was too much tomato sauce on several items and not enough spices). But the other times that I have gone in, which is very fun if you have a friend to go with, the meals have been great because I was able to put them together the way that I know my family likes things. Hope this helps!

I have used Super Suppers once before and have been very pleased with their meals. I would check out their menu for the month online to make sure that what they offer sounds good to you. Also, maybe have another friend go with you to split the cost and the meals (you would pay $50 for the 6) that way if you don't like it, it won't be such a loss in cost.

Just my opinion.

I have used it once a month for the past five months. I go to the one in Frisco, but I have a friend who has used the one in Allen. (They have the same menu, just a different schedule, so it is basically the same). The food is good, and the convenience is great!

I really like super suppers. which location were you going to try? If you were going to try the Carrollton location, let me know. I normally split with a friend so we each get 6 dinners for a little less money.

I LOVE Super Suppers. The only problem with young kiddos is that sometimes the recipes are contain ingredients that will noy appeal to them ( onions, broccoli, etc.). I do love the quality and variety of their entrees, though.

They have just begun to offer "grab -n-go" entrees that are pre-assembled! You can stop by and grab a few to see if you like them before commiting to a 6 or 12 entree class. That should give you a feel for what the food is like... Good luck to you!

I have tried both Super Suppers and At Home Dinners. I prefer At Home Dinners as the ingeredients are fresh and not frozen. This makes the biggest difference. My husband and I LOVE the Chicken Mirabella from At Home Dinners and usually get about three dinners of just that dish. IT certainly does make dinners easier as you just thaw them during the day and they take about 5 to 10 minutes to heat up. I think there is an At Home Dinner that just opened up in Frisco. Otherwise, there is one in Plano at Coit and Legacy, I think!
