Opinions on Kindle Fire?

Anybody have any thoughts? Pros? Cons? What about the whole Amazon Prime thing?

ETA: As I'm looking around it looks like the Samsung Galaxy Tablet might be better? I hate these kinds of decisions! Thoughts?
(I wouldn't use it a ton as a reader...mostly as a mini tablet)...

What can I do next?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tablet (7.0 plus) and I love it, my husband has the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.0 and he loves his as well. I love Amazon, and I have an older Kindle that I still use, but I would get the Samsung Tablet, no question.

I have the kindle fire. My son uses it for Android games, listening to music, and watching videos, my husband surfs the web and checks facebook, and I've gotten to read a couple of books on it. Overall, we love it and have gotten a lot of use out of it.

My husband did sign up for Amazon Prime, I'm not sure for how long. He felt it was worth it so that our son could watch videos on the kindle instead of them fighting over the TV. There was also an issue because it's mostly set up to purchase apps from the Amazon app store. It's harder to purchase apps from other places but he made it work(apparently it involves installing extra software, hacking things, or buying stuff on another device and then transferring it over).

Cons- It has:
no microphone,
no camera,
no GPS,
no cell connection.
Usually easy to connect to wi-fi except at one hotel that only let windows devices on their network. My son complains that it takes too long to reboot. Adding a screen protector and case is a good idea.

My husband has a Kindle Fire and he likes it a lot. I haven't used it a ton, but the times I have, its been user friendly and I like it too.

I just ordered the new Google Nexus 7 which was just released. It got great reviews and is the most reasonably priced tablet at $199.00 that I have seen. It appears to have a lot to offer in comparison and is supposed to rival the Kindle. I just got an email that is has shipped and I can't wait until it arrives!
