Hello all. I am new to the area and I'am looking for outdoor play grounds. Our apartment community has one, but it gets old after a while and there really aren't that many children around. I live in the stone oak/canyon ridge area. TIA.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you ladies so much! We accidentaly found Stone Oak this weekend. It was a cute little park. My dd really liked the climbing rock, though I'm sure that I lost several years off of my life. LOL. I would definatly try to find the other parks soon. We shoot for one every other day or so, though my dh is working 1st this week, so we are stuck at home this week(only one car). I will get with each of you later though.
Thank you all so much!

There are a few great playgrounds at McCallister Park. It is located on Jones Maltsaburger Rd. They are all fairly new. My daughter loves to go there. They also have some great trails for walking, running, and riding bikes. Also lots of wildlife. I went to school at Purdue. From where in Indiana did you move? I have a 2 year old daughter and a 6 month old. If you ever want to go the park sometime just drop me an email ____@____.com

My favorite is the one on Huebner Road-Orsinger Park. Super play areas for that age-shade here and there, picnic tables, a trail, bathrooms.

Also on on West Ave.-when you take Bitters west from 281 turn L on West Ave and the park will be on your right-just can't remember the name right now. It's a little harder there to just let your Dd go free b/c it's kinda made for older kids-cant' remember-m/b 3 y.o. if not it's four and up-plus no shade at all. The planes go overhead-as it's in a flight zone-fun for some kids, though-they come really "close" sometimes.

You might consider hooking up with a MOPS group. Castle Hills Baptist has a great one-meets on the second and fourth Tues of each month.

Welcome to SA!

Stone Oak has a park now two with two of four sections complete. It has a good playscape and cool trails...It is down near the 281 side, next to Canyon Springs Elementary.Have you signed up for Mom's group yet? It is a great support and only $20 per year. I love it and have lots of playmates and dates for my girls....

Hello W., welcome to San Antonio. I have lived here for almost 30 years and love it here and you will too!
I know the little ones get bored after awhile but you might want to try this park. It has a big play park, sand pit, swings, slide, etc. It's Orsinger County par, off of Heubner rd. Here is the link: http://www.sanantonio.gov/sapar/orsingerreservations.asp
Hope you like it.
