S., I'll put my two cents in: open this in aChrome browser and use adblock. I can run nearly every other site through my Firefox browser, but this one? Yikes. No.

I second Nervy Girl's advice. Use chrome and install adblock. Then the site won't give you any trouble at all.

I've been keeping away from this site for the same reason. Right now it's doing it. When I'm on this site, on the bottom left I can see all kinds of things loading themselves on my computer.

Guys, you need to fix this site, like S., I won't be around long if this keeps up. It's taken me like 5 minutes to write this.

I had to use ad blocker on firefox because it was just killing my computer. I am on Chrome today.

I use Google Chrome and it helps, also try Malwarebytes to clean your computer. I have seen a lot of them getting blocked when I am on this site.

My cousin, who died a couple of years ago was an IT tech. When I had problems such as you and others describe, he would run a program that cleaned out the computer. Helped every time. He's gone and so is whatever program that was.

My son-in-law installed a security app called CM Security when I was having difficulties. It cleans out everything as I use my phone. My cousin said cookies were bad. He set the computer to not accept cookies. IT Security cleans them out when I leave the site. Cleans out personal browsing every couple of hours. Warns me when I'm about to go to an unsecured site. It tells me that the phone is using.too much power and optomizes speed. It does other things that I don't remember.

CM Security works better than the other one. Can't remember it's name. It's very popular. It only checked for viruses. CM Security is free, is regularly updated, and has a very good reputation.

I either use CM Security's browser or Chrome. I don't use Adblocker. Ads don't bother me.

The only problem I have from time to time occurs late at night. When I type, the letters are slow to appear and the page is jerky. This tells me it's time for bed.

I have no trouble with my laptop (I use Firefox with AdBlock Plus), and I recently tried it with my iPad.
Um, using Safari - this site was, well, not at all what I'm use to seeing.
I know ads make so much possible but it can be SO BUSY it's hard to see the forest through the trees.
I got the AdBlock Plus browser for iPad and Whew! What a relief! A MUCH better experience for me!

I had the exact same problem...open a new window under private browsing (I use firefox). It runs perfectly now. Only on mampedia do I have this problem also. But a new private window blocks the ads or at least the tracking which slows everything down

I've tried to do everything on my laptop to make it better but it doesn't. Mostly my issue is taking 10 minutes to type one sentence so I just give up. So I'm not on here as much anymore either. Good luck S.. xox

This is the reason I do not come on MP as often as I used to.

My computer just stopped working altogether around Christmas. I spent $200 to have it looked at and for them to remove all this junk on it. I always have anti-malware and virus protection installed - never had problem before. Guy asked me if I visit sites with lots of ads. This is only one (other than facebook).

I have switched to Google Chrome and installed Adblocker. Which has helped immensely. So I think it's partly the browser but mostly it's those pesky ads. Because I still use IE for other sites and never have an issue with other sites.

Now, lately, my whole screen has been turning white and then the entire page loads again (just on Mamapedia). So not sure what's up with that.

However, 3 ads are blocked right now. Speed way faster.

It does show me though (and this disturbs me) that 11 cookies are set right now on this page from Mamapedia.

I get tired of the auto play ads. I have to wait until they start then try and hit pause. On each page. I refuse to buy anything that has an auto play ad on pages I go to.

I have NEVER been to Starbucks because of this...

I second Julie. Download Malwarebytes, scan your computer, and be amazed by everything that is gumming up your computer.
