I have same issue even now.....Get to a Chiropractor and massage therapist asap to get relief. I guarantee you'll feel some pain relief....works for me.
Ladies -
I suspect this could happen to anyone who has to routinely lift, and carry 20+ lbs of squirminess. My right shoulder is protesting. It aches, and it feels like the muscles are running over speedbumps if I reach up or out.
Our little guy isn't especially big, but I find it very taxing to carry him for any length of time. Also, I find I've got to do a 2 hand carry, for the added support.
He'll probably be crawling soon, so that will relieve some need to carry him, until then, any suggestions? does this warrant talking to my G.P., or a P.T. about?
thanks,

Hi Lori,
Find a principled Upper Cervical chiropractor in your area (If you don't have one, go to www.upcspine.com and locate one) Every mom that carries her little one should be in maintenance adjustments so this doesn't happen. The stronger your muscles (when properly aligned) are the less likely they are to pull, even with a squirmy baby. Chiropractic is not simply for pulled backs but will also maintain your immune system so that you are healthy and energetic enough to care for your little one. It would also help your little one as well!
God bless,
M.
Definitely see your doctor. This may just be sore muscles but it sounds like more. It could be bursitis which can be healed with rest. Or it could be a torn muscle which will require surgery if you don't take care of it now.
My brother described his shoulder in a similar way. Turned out it was a muscle having to stretch over something in the joint. Eventually the muscle tore and he had to have surgery.
I also thought bursitis. My mom has had that before and couldn't even carry a purse on her shoulder because of it. Definitely worth getting it checked out.
i get terrible headaches if i carry my girl -- pulls the muscles in my neck. If it's not bursitis or torn ligament, try building up the muscles starting with very light weights.
Get massages regularly and that will help tremendously. It also is good for you to get alot of your stress out as well.
Hey there!
Well, my mom has a condition called "frozen shoulder" with symptoms that sound like your issues. Maybe google it to get a better understanding and see if it fits your symptoms.
Hope you feel better soon!
