"Peeing" Problems

The past 3 days my son has been peeing alot. This is a kid that normally could go hours without having to go. Now he's going at least 5 times an hour. Each time he goes it's only a small amount. He went 3 times in 1/2 hour before bed last night. There hasn't been an increase in fluids and he's not complaining of any pain or burning. He isn't having any accidents. Is there something I'm missing or should be worried about? Thanks.

What can I do next?

Yes, I would be mildly concerned and get him to the doctor today, in order to check urine, blood sugar, white & red blood cell count, and some more, although they may just start simply by checking a urine sample. That may be enough to determine what's up.

Hi, Mom:
Does he have a urinary tract infection (UTI)?
Do you have a PED Doc. Call and talk to the
nurse.
Just an idea.

Since it's been going on for 3 days, I would take him to the ped. and get it checked out.

I went through the same thing for a bout a week with my three year old. Has anything changed? We took the passi cold turkey even though he only got it at night...but discovered he was traumatized so once we gave it back to him to use only for bedtime the frequency stopped...Like you we were initially concerned and took him to the doctor...and they tested his urine and no issues..no infections..no diabetes etc...The only other question I would ask you is if he has been circumcised? If he has then it is rare per the doc that boys develop UTI's but uncircumcised boys it is common. Just a thought.
