I feel like I get the mommy of the year award ! I found some old film in a drawer and took a couple of rolls to get them developed. (I still have 5 tossable cameras to get developed !) One roll couldn't be developed because it was too dark. The other was from my oldest sons 6th b-day party / sleepover with friends that have now moved away. Those weren't great but I did get a couple of pictures from it. The last roll was ok. It was from my oldest sons 1st day of kindergarten and some of my youngest crawling / starting to pull up and in a high chair. Glad to have the pictures. But my oldest son is 13 and going into the 8th grade and my youngest is 8 ! Can't believe I let these sit so long. Now I am going to have to get the others developed pretty quick. Not to mention it cost so much now to get film developed ($11 per roll at Walgreen's)...
So - for the required question - what have you done lately to earn the mommy of the year award ?
With both my kids, I started a journal about their lives from when they are born.
My kids are now 6 and 10.
I have not written in it, for like a couple of years. And/or I have things written on post-its as fly-by writing. But not put it in the book.
Ugh.
Ha. If we didn't have digital pictures, mine would never get developed. I still have rolls of film from a field trip when I was in 6th grade I haven't developed! Lol.
We were out walking today, and my 3 yo DD was lagging behind a little bit dragging a stick on the ground. A couple of bikes were coming up on us, so I went to reach around to guide her in front of me and out of the bike's path. Turned out she was walking RIGHT behind me, so I wound up smacking her in the face. :/ She was startled enough that she fell backward into the path of the bike.... Who had to go into the grass to avoid running her over. Did I mention that my daughter is currently in a long-arm cast for a broken elbow? Yeah. Where's my trophy? Lol.
thanks SH for the reminder about the book for each kid that lasted about 2 years and that was all. They have now been alive longer than I haven't written in it.
I would like the award since I screamed at my daughter today for doing something I have calmly told her about 5 times not to do. Full on bulging eyes throbbing vein scream. NOT good. i'm trying to forgive both of us.
if that isn't good enough, could I get runner up for dragging all their clothes out of the closet to see what fits for next year,,,,,, A week ago, still not put back, uggg.
