Ask if he would like to try, then drop it. *OR* let him sit on the potty while the water fills, then he can get in the tub (unless it makes him cry, then don't) Healthy children learn to go potty in their own time. With my last two boys, they were close to 4. Eeek--I know. But when they were ready, they just did it and never had an accident. No big deal. Hang in there!

He's still very young; most boys aren't trained till after they're 3. I would just let it go, make it a non-issue (and use diapers, they cost less than pull-ups). If you don't push it now, when his body is ready (there's a lot of neurological development required for holding and evacuating on command) it will be a lot easier. U

By making him go to the bathroom before bathing you are, in effect, forcing him. Personally, I'd drop it altogether. Put him in diapers and wait a few months.

What I do is reward her with a prize lollipops, stickers like a little reward for going to the potty. Her potty plays music when she goes in the potty so she gets very excited when it plays music. But maybe its different with boys but thats what I do. You don't have to force him but you have to put your foot down and tell him what he will get are won;t get in return if he goes.

i would wait a few months. I have heard boys are harder topotty train than girls. My son is 2 and we got him a potty chair. He went potty in it the 1st day all by himself! Now he doesnt want anything to do with it. "They" say not to force the potty training and some studies have found forcing potty training to lead to OCD. I plan on waiting til the weather s nice and wonderful and sending my son outside naked. I have heard that the method works well. they become aware of what is going on and understand it more. Some friends in the colder months just let them go commando in the house and after like 3 days they have it figured out. Who knows! Good Luck mama.

He's just 2 1/2? Wait until he is 3. We also used the "Toilet Training in Less Than a Day" method - although it does take more than a day.

I like the book "Toilet Training in Less Than a Day" by Azrin, but there is also one called "Potty Training in a Day", I can't remember the author. The second is recommended by Dr. Phil, so you could probably get info from his site on it. I did the first with my 3 kids, and we are officially diaper free at 20 months! (We do still use them at night.) The boys were both done before 2 and a half, even my difficult one who wanted no part in the process. GL!

I think he's not ready. Try waiting a few more months.
