Welcome to mamapedia!
Spiders (or arachnids) can be beneficial in your home. Now of course, that depends upon WHAT SPECIES of spider it is...if it's a brown recluse or a black widow - yeah...you want them gone....
Ensure all screens are not ripped or broken and sit firmly in their setting...
weather stripping on ALL doors and windows...
make sure all pipes leading INTO the home are caulked and sealed...
Throw away or recycle newspapers or mail - especially STACKS of paper....magazines and old cardboard boxes. Spiders can hide and live in paper products without being noticed. Clearing out stored paper products can elevate spots for the spiders to live, making them easier to find.
Regularly dust behind and inside bookcases and entertainment centers. Vacuum all baseboards and corners of the home.
Removing dusty areas is another way of eliminating areas where spiders can hide.
If you are still desperate to get rid of them - use an insecticide fogger inside the home - this will decrease the number of spiders already living in the home. Make sure you follow the instructions TO THE LETTER. if you do NOT use it per the instructions on the can, it can harm to humans and animals inhabiting the home.
