Primrose vs Children's Courtyard

My 2 1/2 year-old son and I are moving to Fort Worth from AK in two months. I have never been to TX before. With the help of everyone here, I have decided on an area and secured an apartment in hopes that it turns out well. We will be living in the Granbury/Bryant Irvin area of SW Fort Worth. I am looking into childcare facilities in the area and I am torn between Primrose and Children's Courtyard, any suggestions?

What can I do next?

My daughter is 19 months and has been at a Primrose since she was 3 months old. We love it! The teachers have been amazing-each main teacher that she has had has been with the school for years-it makes a big difference. the cirriculum is great-she is very advanced for her age. I think that no matter where you go it is about your comfort level with the staff and the teachers-You get a vibe when you meet with them. Try to get on a waiting list now-sometimes they are hard to get in to-especially in the summer

My son has been at Primrose since 8 weeks, and we are so greatful and pleased with how much he has learned and how caring the staff is. It is a private school, so it may be a little more expensive than courtyard, but I guarantee you that your kids will be learning and having fun while there. My son knew sign language before talking and now knows a little Spanish at 2 and 1/2. That doesn't include all of the other things he has been taught there (counting to 20, ABC, colors, shapes, real world topics that he knows about, etc). The list is endless , and I'm always surprised at the new things he knows. I highly recommend Primrose.

My oldest son went to a Children's Courtyard when he was a toddler. They are more of a daycare than school in my opinion. A nice daycare, but with a nice big price tag. If I were to spend that much again, I would want more emphasis on early education. When my son was about 1 1/2 we switched him to a Montessori school. (This was when we lived in the Austin area so I won't recommend the exact school to you.)

When I was ready to put my second child into daycare I looked at Primrose too. I would have loved to send him there but the waiting list was too long and I wasn't working yet so we couldn't have afforded it anyway. (Again this was in Austin.) We now live in Arlington so our school will be too far from you.

If the tuition for Primrose is in your budget then that is where I would recommend. Everyone I know that sends their kids there has nothing but great things to say about them, and this is true no matter which Primrose location it is. (I would also recommend looking into Montessori schools. I think they have great programs.)

Welcome to Texas! I hope you are ready for some hot weather!

Hi,

All three of my boys have attended Primrose at one time or another, and I love it. My 3 yr. old is currently enrolled there in Mansfield, TX. They teach educational stuff, as well as manners and other social behaviors. I don't really know anything about the other place.

Are you sure you're ready for Texas summers? :0)

Hope this helps.

Can't say anything about Children's Courtyard, but we did have a bad experience with Primrose. Curriculum was great, some of the teachers were great, management was inexperienced and it showed.

Really check into the management, turnover, etc. We went to a newer Primrose and they had a lot of growing pains. I hear they're doing better now, but the experience left such a bad taste in my mouth we wouldn't go back.
