Progesterone Levels???? - Roseville,MI

I have been trying to get pregnant for 4 months now. This is my second month on Chlomid and my "day 24" progesterone level was 18.3. It falls in high range for the luteal phase and the low-mid range for first trimester. Help!! Can anyone tell me anything about these values except that I did ovulate?

A little more information... I am 30 and I have to go through artificial inseminations (AI). Which, for me, means that when I stop worring and trying so hard there is no chance. Each AI is expensive and I know you can't rush things but it's hard when your mind is made up to have another child.

What can I do next?

Honestly, I agree with the other mom about the Chlomid...I used it for sevaral months and was not successful. It took us 2 years to have our son and I ended up getting pregnant the natural way about 3 months after getting OFF the Chlomid. Try to relax, enjoy you son and try not to think about it...it will happen!!

J., I don't know how long your cycles are, or how old you are, how many years you want between children, or so many other things. So, I'm not going to tell you to relax or just let it happen. Sometimes that isn't the answer. I relaxed for 5 years before conceiving my son. It didn't make a difference for the first 4 years.
However, the values, if high for the luteal phase, are still good, then. However, if you feel like things are not working well for you, then I'd talk to your OB, to see if there is something that needs further investigation. I also tried Clomid for a couple of times. It dried up my cervical fluid and no baby either. Now, I'm trying Femara for the first time. It doesn't have the side effects Clomid did. And I'm hoping it will help us reach our goal of another child. I hope you find the answers you are looking for soon. Waiting is NOT easy when you want to conceive, I know. And that does not mean you aren't enjoying your other child. Best of wishes to you.

Chlomid worked for me -- twins!!! It lengthened my luteal phase and, combined with progesterone suppositories, I got PG after 5 months. DO use some kind of "lube" though, b/c the drug really dries you up (sorry TMI). If Chlomid doesn't work after 6 cycles, they usually say it's not going to. Best of luck to you!

J.,
Well I've used Chlomid before too. I was going for sex selection and the doctor wanted me to take it to provide a
better environment for the right sex chromosome.
Never had any success. In fact I got the impression Chlomid provided more of a roller coaster ride for me emotionally.
So maybe the trying should not include the Chlomid. Just sit back, relax, and let natural nature take its course.

Good luck, tho!
