Has anyone used Quicken WillMaker? We need to do a will and my husband doesn't want to pay the money for it right now. Is it legitimate? What are the costs once you buy the software?

In Texas a handwritten will that has your signature on it is legal and all you need unless your will is very complicated.

You can also handwrite a will and have it notarized. I did that years ago and it was all I had until I got married. I had to have two people go with me to the notary and sign the will as witnesses.

I don't know how much the Quicken program costs, but you can also use U.S. Legal Forms. It is only $20. You can get one that is specific for your state, or a general will that is legal in all states.
U.S. Legal Forms is also recommended by Dave Ramsey.

I got the software for free when I bought Quicken. I did the Will Maker but never notorized it ! hahaha. I think is a good program and looks profressional :-) Blessings!

Hi JP, I'm an insurance agent in AZ. I'm not sure about this program but really, I believe most of these do-it-yourself kits only need to be notarized at the end. I think they walk you thru everything. You are smart to get at least something in place. Maybe Google it and see if anyone else has posted any comments about it. Good luck.

I just did this for my BFF her mom has terminal cancer. I went on line and got a free will entered the info and had it Notarized. I had my dad read it and he said mine was more professional than the one he paid for. You can also register it in your county court office; just in case anyone tries’s to dispute it.

God bless you.

We wanted to do that a few years ago and were told that a will done that way wouldn't be legit in Texas. It may have been faulty advice but it would probably be wise to check on that before buying the program. Isn't it amazing how much it costs to let people know what you want done when you die? Kind of seems like a joke I don't get...

I just bought it over the weekend and it was super easy to navigate and I am getting my will notarized tomorrow. Easy and worth it!

BTW-I got it a Staples and it was WAY cheaper than other stores.

Good luck!
