Hi,
I hope it's ok to ask this, but I figured moms were the best group to know! We will be purchasing new dishes in the next few weeks, and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what is a good brand or not. When we got married 13 years ago, we received a set of Pfaltzgraff dishes and they've held up beautifully. The only thing is I haven't found any now that I really like, so I'm looking for something else. I saw some on Crate and Barrel that I liked, but I haven't seen them yet in person to know how they feel. We are looking to buy a complete set for about 12 and then plates and bowls for another 12, so it will be fairly spendy, so I want to make sure we get something good. Anyone have any dishes that they really like and have held up well? Any help would be appreciated!

What can I do next?

My mom and grandmother have had the same Corelle dishes for YEARS! We have some, too, and they really are great. My husband has flung them at the floor trying to break them and he can't. They've also come out with some nice new patterns that look more modern than the classic green trim my grandma has or the basic white my mom has. I think Target carries it.

I would go to one of the outlet malls. Like the one in Albertville. They have more patterns than they carry at regular stores and you can buy what you want. I love my Corelle Plates and never had a problem with them. Good luck

Hi S.,
I don't have a specific brand recommendation, but I do have a tip. Be sure the dishes FIT well in your dishwasher!
I bought a set at Pier 1 because I fell in love with the pattern - it fit my kitchen perfectly, but not my dishwasher. I thought about bringing them back right away but I was too much in love with the style/pattern. So now I'm stuck with not being able to wash more than 4 large plates at a time with my other dishes because they take up so much room. Next time it will be more of a guideline in my selection.
Good luck!

If you can get to the big Outlet mall in albertville there is a pfaltzgraff store there where there is a huge selection of pfaltzgraff patterns. My mom and I go out there every year on my birthday as the pattern I have is no longer sold in stores so I have to get it there and the same goes for the pattern my mom has so she takes me there to get something new for my birthday.
