My 10 year old wants a rice crispy cake for her b-day party. Anyone know a tasty way to make it? I can make rice crispies just fine, but I've never topped it with anything.... Maybe I should make them with fruity pebbles? Help me get creative!

The cake boss always uses rice krispy treats to make his cakes (they are moldable so he does all the crazy extensions using them. He just frosts them like he would a normal cake.
You could do a three layer one...fruity, plain and chocolate maybe and put them together and then frost-that would be pretty cool.

do regular crispies and maybe do half of them with mini chocolate chips and drizzle with melted dark chocolate and the other half with mini butterscotch or peanutbutter or white chocolate and drizzle with white chocolate and write her name with the icing gel

I love Rice Krispie treats, but I HATE Pebbles, Fruity and Cocoa. I would stick with the basics for the "cake" and maybe sculpt it, frost it and cover with fondant. I made my son a TARDIS and a Dalek that way for his last birthday cake. Worked well.

Another option is to just melt some chocolate and drizzle, maybe add some sprinkles for color? Does her birthday have a theme?

You can always use chocolate marshmallows or they have strawberry flavored ones too. They are pretty good.

You could always use food dye to make different colors if you liked. Use different pans to put the crispy's in.

i saw a christmas rice crispy cake. they cut it into starts (it was fruity pebbles) and then stacked it up into the shape of a tree. then they softened the vanilla or whatever type of frosting and drizzled it on there. it looked awesome. i was going to make it, but didn't. they also put on gum drops for ornaments.

I just saw in Parenting magazine rice crispey's made to look like icecream cones............so cute. If you don't get the mag I bet you could go online and see them. If it's a kid pary this would be cute. If not you could buy a fun shaped cake pan (whatever she is into) and mold the treat into it and ice as you normaly would.

I've seen them with red hots in them before, not sure if a kid would like it though.
