Runners ~ What's Your Playlist?

Hi Fellow Runners,

I need a playlist when running. So far I've actually enjoyed the quiet when running that I don't get at home, but my track is filling up with folks keeping their New Years resolutions (I essentially had the track to myself in Nov-Dec :) and it's becoming distracting. I need to get inside my own head a bit.

I've got a handful of songs I like with that good pounding the pavement beat, but need your advise on up-tempo songs to keep one foot infront of the other.

What can I do next?

Fabulous! I've downloaded many of your ideas and can't wait for my run tomorrow to listen!

My mp3 player is really eclectic (as is my taste in music) but certain songs get me going more than others.

Drop the Pressure-Milo
Pop the Top-Nappy Roots
Fruit-Sander (something-German-Klein-something?)
Hey Ya-Outkast
Forget You-Cee Lo

and the only reason I have those songs is specifically for moving. :)

There's lot of other music I love to move to, though...Audioslave/Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, the soundtrack from Hair, Prince, Fishbone and tons of other random punk and ska music, lots of golden oldies from the 50s, Garbage, They Might Be Giants, and on and on.

Here are the ones I have added recently, a lot of them are songs I hear in my Zumba class and they have up-tempo beats that are great for running:
Madness by Muse
Good Feeling by Flo Rida
Turn Me On- David Guetta feat Nikki Minaj
Moves Like Jagger- Maroon 5
Children of the 90's- Steel Train
Whispers in the Dark- Mumford and Sons
We found Love- Paulette

Podrunner / DJ Steve Boyett has some good mixes I love for running. I can pick the appropriate BPM for my run that day and it helps keep running at the pace I am shooting for.

He also has some interval mixes too. I love using these, so I just listen for the queue when to change pace and not have to look at my watch.
