Safest Place to Take My Daughter to Have Her Ears Pierced

I don't know the age limit for either of these places, but I've had mine pierced at Wal-Mart (Memorial and Admiral) and at Claire's (Woodland Hills Mall). Claire's is probably safer and with a smaller number of associates, they're probably better trained than someone you'll find at Wal-Mart. Claire's also gives you a big bottle of ear care antiseptic, so you don't have to worry about buying that too. I've never had a problem with any of my piercings (two in the ear lobes and three in the cartilage), so I'm sure you'd be fine if you went to either of those places. Good luck!

I worked at The Icing (affiliated with Claire's) and they had me piercing after a couple of days of watching someone else do it (when I was in high school). Would not recommend the Icing or Claire's. Believe it or not, I might suggest an actual piercing studio - there is a great one on Brookside and they are VERY clean and have health dept. regulations and inspections.

Not meant to offend, but the most reputable places will not pierce unless the child is able to verbalize that they want to have it done.

I read an article in Parents magazine that said the best place to take them was there Doctor. Just call before hand to be sure your doctor will do it.
