Seeking a Reputable Family Practitioner in the Kokomo, in Area

I love our pediatrician!! We see Dr. Radcliffe Jones at North Central Pediatrics. It is located in Howard Community Hospital. He always takes the time to answer my questions and has been very open to my feelings as a mom. The whole group of Drs there are great from what I have heard from others, and it is a very kid-friendly environment. Good luck!!

We have something in common, I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old that I'm breastfeeding. We had a less than desired experience with my first child's pediatrician. So at one year I changed him over to North Central Indiana Pediatrics. We see Dr. O'Bannion. He is very good about playing with him during his assessments. Which is nice when you have a young child who doesn't get why you are cramming this weird metal thing in his ears. My son absolutely LOVES him! With my second baby the choice was obvious. The nice thing about NCIP is that all of the pediatricians are very good about getting in touch with you after hours. My new little one had an elevated billiruben level. I took him in for more blood work after his first week home. The nurse said they would contact me in the morning with blood results. Dr. Jones was on call that night and called me at 8:30pm to let me know my son's levels were alright. As far as breastfeeding. I had difficulty with my first because he had thrush and he was treated and I was not. Needless to say his suck was not great because his mouth hurt, and my milk dried up. This time I have had a great experience. I made an appointment with Martha Kinney at NICP ( she's a nurse practitioner and breastfeeding consultant). I have been so impressed and I never felt stupid for asking questions. The office has a nurse that you can call and ask questions or run something by. I have several other Mom friends who highly recommend the office. You can't go wrong. THey are great. Hope this helped.

I am a Kokomo mom to a 3yr old big girl as she likes to be called. Her pediatrician is Dr. Robert Zentz from North Central Pediatrics within Howard Regional Hospital and is located in the far east wing closest to the 31 bypass. I switched to him after hearing wonderful reviews from family and neighbors and I have not regretted my decision. He is wonderful with kids and gets them to open up to him by communicating to them on their level. I would say Dr. Zentz is approx. early to mid 40's with kids of his own.

Now my Primary Care Physician is Dr. Nicole Lockwood from American Health Network and she is hard to get into but she's nice and listens to what you have going on and does the recommendations of meds or OTC meds just depends on the scenerio.

I am just the person you need to hear from. I am a former pediatric nurse..who worked at a peds office in Kokomo, currently a Lactation Consultant and I am VERY happy with my FP.. I have 2 girls 4 & 8. Used to work in a peds office, but when my ped left, I left also. So when I had my 4 year old, I really searched for a doc. My concern about an FP was the lack of pediatric training. I found Dr Martha Hoshaw at American Health Network. We have been with her for over 5 years now. Basically, she did extra peds training, she has 3 breastfed children, church going, we see her socially, and love her all around. She also grew in Kokomo! Her brother is here also, he is an anesthesiologist at St Joe. So, I believe I would HiGHLY recommend her. If you want more info on the peds, I would give it..but most wont be that nice. The office itself is terror also.
