Seeking Help in Finding a "Real" Modeling Agency for Daughter

I was wondering if anyone has ever worked with a modeling agency that was the real deal. I of course being the mom have always thought my daughter was cute, but never thought to much about it. However, I am always getting big compliments on how beautiful she is and how I should put her in baby modeling. She is 6months old and has large dark blue eyes and a head full of thick brown hair.

Anyway, I am just trying to find out who I would contact to "Just Check it out" Any help would be great. Thanks so much!

T., I tried this 2 times and both agencies wanted between 500 and 800 dollars upfront. That is if they accepted your child. This is a really tough business. Be careful ! There are alot of scams being pulled when it comes to this. I would just get some really nice pictures taken and send them to the agencies in the mail. You can probably find the address to a couple on line. Good luck !

My daughter is signed with a few agents right now but honestly the age they start placing kids in roles is when they are around 4. I have had her in this since she was 6 months and even the agents say clients want kids starting at the age of 4ish, they follow directions better and they don't need the parent with them 100% of the time. Don't ever go with an agency that wants you to pay them to represent the child, it's a scam I've been there, done that. Some agencies want you to pay to place the childs photos online at there sight for online request but doesn't work so well. It took longer to post the photo than the photo was up there. Agencies do require composite card and that cn run anywhere from ###-###-####.00 depending what photographer you use. These need to be updated yearly like clockwork. Agencies win't look at the child until they have composite cards done and a cover letter giving a brief description on why your child should be looked at. The child id a piece of meat to them and don't take it personal it's just business.

Hi T.,

Try Lily's on West Washington in Chicago.

I think Elite in Chicago has a children's division - and I think they're a legitimate agency (won't charge you). Good luck.

Try John Casablancas or John Robert Powers, they are in the yellow pages.

My daugher is with Ford on Washington here in Chicago. Check out the Ford website and you'll find (not too easily as I recall) info on where to get started. They had an open call when my daughter started. You probably just need to submit a photo via mail. They do not do composites for kids under 5 years. We take a nice photo (professional or not) about every six months and give 20 copies to the agency with updated info re- sizes on the back. It's not so much how adorable your child is, they may already have a model who is the same age and close in look to your child so if you don't get signed in one place, look somewhere else or submit another photo in 6 months. You can also look through Craigs list for odd jobs. Good luck!
