I just moved to Geneva and need a good female ob/gyn. I've been putting it off, but just found out I'm pregnant again, so I need to see someone pretty soon. I don't know anyone in the area yet and am having a really hard time getting recommendations. I would appreciate any you all could offer!

What can I do next?

I know you said you were looking for a female ob/gyn, but I have been seeing Dr. Jeffrey Postlewaite for the past six years and he is absolutely WONDERFUL! He has also received awards from Delnor Hospital as being one of their best doctors. The name of his practice is called Focus on Women and his address and phone number are 302 Randall Road in Geneva; ###-###-####. He's in the medical building next to Delnor. He also has a couple of female doctors in his practice as well. One of them prepped me for my emergency c-section and I also had to see them while I was pregnant so I could get to know all the doctors in his practice. I liked them, too. Also, his medical staff is very nice and wonderful as well. Hope this helps!

I would recommend a midwife. They are generally female and lower rates of c-sections and interventions. This is the practice I see www.midwestmidwifery.com. You can look on their website and see where their offices are located. Otherwise you can go to www.midwife.org and search for one in your zip code. Good luck!

I just delivered my 4th child but 1st here in IL. I went to Fox Valley WOmen's Health partners they deliver at Delnor and Mercy. I had Sherrt who is the midwife of the practice during the delivery and she was excellent. She let me do it my way (no drugs, no IV). My assigned OB was Dr. Carolyn Mills but all 4 women in the practice were excellent. Good Luck!

Hi K.,

I also go to Fox Valley Women's Health Partners. My main OB/Gyn is Dr. Carolyn Mills, but I also LOVE Dr. Wang. Another female doctor is there now too, but she started in the last couple of weeks of my pregnancy so I never saw her but I have heard great things about her. It's a great practice with an office in St. Charles and in Aurora.

Good Luck!

L.
