Does anyone have restaurant recommendations for a 2nd birthday dinner with family?
We're kind of new to the area... Looking for places in Algonquin, Elgin, Schaumburg, etc.

We have had a few functions for our kids at Nick's pizza in South Elgin on Randall Rd.. They have a nice back room that accomodates up to 60 people (I think, it might be more). You can also bring in decorations or hire entertainment (we had a balloon lady and a friend of mine hired a woman to do sing-a-long songs). We have always had a great time and we've always been very happy with the service and food. Good Luck!

I have to agree with Nick's. Our family has tried numerous restaurants from Crystal Lake to St. Charles and we've had the best time and most well behaved kids at Nick's.(Both in Crystal Lake/LITH and S. Elgin.) It's also the one place the kids ask to go and actually eat when we're there!
Have you tried Rain Forest Cafe in the Woodfield Mall? Just a thought. Good luck.

How many people are you expecting? And are there other kids? A few moms in my moms group (me included) take our kids for a bday dinner at Red Robin in Algonquin. If you sign up for their kid's club, you get a coupon for a free kid meal. The kids have fun & if you tell them it is a bday, they bring a sundae & sing happy birthday.
