I've always liked the idea of using a family name (1st or middle name) because my father is big into ancestory stuff. I've also heard of people putting the first part of the mothers and fathers name together, or grandparents names together to make a name. I like that idea because they'll probably be the only one in their class with that name (I graduated with 8 A.'s in a class of 80, I hate having the same name as everyone else!!) Then there's always my idol, Cher. Her birth name was Cheryllynne (I think that's how she spelled it!!)

I have two little girls named Jaiden Lee and Charlee Marie. (Charlee got her name because my 2nd pregnancy was so much harder than my first. I was more tired, really sick and she beat me up pretty good while she was in there! I was convinceds she was a boy (but very relieved she was a girl!) and wanted to name "him" after my Dad. His name is Timothy Charles. I was going to name the baby Charles Timothy. Anyway, she came out a girl, but I really still wanted to name her after my Dad, Charlee it became!
My fav girl names were Jordan and Addison.

Good luck with everyone. It will all work out.

AS LONG AS YOU DONT NAME HER BIPSY , CANDY, CINNAMON, OR THE LIKE, YOUR DAUGHTER WILL BE FINE NO MATTER WHAT NAME YOU GIVE HER. I LOVE HOW PARENTS THINK CHILDREN WILL KINDA GO WITH THEIR NAMES....MY BEST FRIEND DID THE SAME WITH HER KIDS AND OF COURSE AS ALL KIDS ARE..THEY ARE ADORABLE BUT NOT ANGELIC IN THE LEAST ( WHICH IS THE MEANING BEHIND HER DAUGHTERS NAME) I WAS UNSURE WHAT MY YOUNGEST WOULD BE NAMED UNTIL SHE WAS BORN THEN IT WAS JUST SO RIGHT. I HAD HAD SOME IDEAS BUT NO DEFINITES. THE MIDDLE NAME WAS AFTER MY MOM SO THAT WAS EASY. BUT YOU WILL KNOW WHEN YOU SEE YOUR BLESSING WHAT HER NAME SHOULD BE. ALSO CONSIDER THE INITIALS TOO.....I KNEW A GIRL NAMED AMY SUE STANLEY BEFORE.....CAN YOU IMAGINE THE THOUGHT OF WHEN SHE HAD TO USE HER FULL INITIALS?

Our daughters name is Isabella Grace, we call her Bella Grace (means beautiful Grace, to us meaning God's beautiful grace)
with my mom's first name as another middle name. Pauline.

as something fun , we had Arabella Tallulah on the list as well, i kept telling my husband. Bella Lu sounds cute right! ? haha.. it started to grow on me actually

Other strong names to me would be Lorelei,, Sloan, Grace, Amelia, Daria, Ava is big these days.
Rhianon and Raven are a few favorites of mine, not sure how professional they would be, but maybe your daughter won't go into the professional world.

you could do double p's.. give her a name that starts with a P like your son. Our last name starts with a P, so it didn't really sound good for us. but for more fun i put on the list Paisley and Precious..hahaa..

lastly,, we went in with about a dozen names and waited till we saw our son, then went over the names. he looked like a cooper elijah and not so much a luke or elijah.
we knew Bella would be Bella, she was so early. 12 weeks early. we didn't have time to see her to see if she looked like a bella. i would suggest having a few names and maybe see what the baby looks like. or how the name feels on the kid :))

There are name websites you can look at (google name meanings) or books you can buy in baby departments at stores. The strongest name, though, regardless of what it is, will come from your heart. Also, think about all that a woman/girl is - beautiful, sensitive, intelligent, strong, empathetic, creative, etc. human beings. Perhaps that will help. She may perhaps end up in the corporate world, but she will be a human and a woman first. Her name will not make her life or career. Celebrate her femininity first, then her career goals.
Good luck to you. I hope you find a name that suits her perfectly :)
And I hope things with you husband/family work out for the best.

We're planning on naming our daughter Morgan. I think Ja(y)den, Jordan, Madison, Landon, or Taylor are all good, strong girl names.

However, you may want to keep in mind that she might not want to grow up and be part of the corporate world.

My girl’s names are Abbigail and Clara. I think they are both strong and functioning names... plus with Abbigail you can make it young and hip with Abbi. I like those names because they are not as common right now. Especially Clara, my daughter is in 2nd grade and I have yet to run across another one.

Lauren is a strong name. My husband and I are both professionals and went through that whole issue with wanting a strong name that would look good on a resume for a job in the corporate world. One with no nick names (that we could come up with)
Good luck.

My daughter's name is Jordan. We opted to spell it with an a instead of with a y. I find that most people assume that if the name is spelled with a y, they infer that Jordyn is a girl. When spelled with an a, many will assume that she's a boy. The nice thing about names such as Alex and Jordan is that they are not gender specific. This way if she wants to leave first impressions for face to face or phone to phone interactions later in life, she can. She won't be judged on her gender, at least not right away.

How do you know that your future daughter will want ot be in the corporate world? Becareful about projecting your desires and wants on your children, especially before they are born. Perhaps waiting until you actually see your daughter would be a better option. I know many parents (having worked in a neonatal care unit before changing to geriatric) had names picked out for their children and then would look at their new baby and change it completely. Even have a friend whose name was changed when mom brought him to see grandpa for the first time. My daughter is a Vivian, she is vibrant, intelligent, vivacious, and quick to make friends. We can't even go shopping without friends and school mates calling to her. She fits her name and I waited until she was born to definately pick it. Don't stress about a name. There are too many other things to worry about now.

Alexandra..... If she's working in a male dominate field she can be called Alex. Or for fun with the girls, Alexa. But I think that was the name of the lady on a old show probably before your time named Dallas or Knots Landing. And boy she was one lady you didn't want to mess with! lol I have B&G twins, their names are Morgan & Mason. (My lil M&M's, lol) But I got Mason from a movie called Hard to Kill with Steven Segal. His name was Mason Storm. And I told everyone if I ever had a boy his name would be Mason. I almost made his middle name Arye for masonary.. lol but opted to go after my mothers name Patricia - so it came out Patric. And something to go with Mason was Morgan whom I also liked. In fact she was one of Alexandria's enemies... Morgan Fairchild.. lol
