Shampoo/Soap For 5 Yr Old

I have been using Burt's Bees Baby Shampoo on my kids for a few years now. LOVE it! They always smell so yummy after their baths. Anyway, my oldest is 5, and he takes a bath almost every day. I'm just wondering if he's still okay to use the "baby shampoo" for now. When do kids start using "real" shampoo and bar soap? I'm big on only using brands WITHOUT sodum laureth sulfate, by the way. He has no issues with body odor, so I'm more just curious than anything what other Moms have done. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Why change what's working? I try to buy the most "natural" products on the market for every member of my family. To me, healthy products have no age requirements. :)

Great question & kudos to you for being aware of how toxic SLS is. Baby shampoo can be used as long as you would like. It's formulated for extremely sensitive skin so I even recommend it to my adult clients if they're sensitive. There are many on the market but I've used the same one for over 9 years. I'll send you the info :). G

My son is 7 and we still use the tear free kid shampoo/conditioner and a kid body wash. Both the kids (4 year old daughter & 7 year old son) use the same stuff.

I think if it works for you and him keep the baby soap. My husbands smallest sister is 6 and still uses baby shampoo but" grown up conditioner" for her long hair and "grown up bar soap"that's what she calls it! Lol
I think maybe ask him and see what he thinks
Cuz u never know other shampoo may burn his eyes or get the 2 in 1 shampoo for kids that is also tear free
Hope this helped

I still use the no tear shampoos and conditioners on my 5 year old granddaughters when they spend the night. I also use the alveeno baby wash for soap. I don't use bar soap on me, but liquid soaps and they usually have perfumes so I don't think it would be good for kids. With my kids I think they were probably around 4 or 5 when I stopped using the baby shampoo, when I stopped worrying about the soap in the eyes.
