I have a couch and loveseat that I am not using anymore. Just got a new couch and the old one is just sitting in the garage. I would be more than willing to let you have it!
Hi there, I am searching for some furniture for my apartment for me and my little girl.
We are moving into our new apartment On the 24th. We can't afford very much. But I am wondering where is a good place to get furntiure.
I can't apply for credit becuase my credit is gone. And I don't have 2k To throw away on a living room set from rooms to go.
I just want a sectional or something for me and my little girl. I don't know where to go or what to do......
A family from my church was supposed to be donating some furniture to me but ended up selling it instead of helping me.
So if anyone knows of a cheaper place to get furniture or a place that can help me please let me know thank you.

search Craigslist under 'free' and 'furniture', you'll find tons of deals there. Also, Charter furniture clearance center off the service road(35 and Valley View area). My brother in law (Ruben) works there, can get very good deals on new and returned, previously leased corp. apartment furniture. I was just there today with my sister in law who has just got an apartment with her son(9), and he told her he could get her a sofa, love, end tables, coffee table, dresser/mirror, nightstand, and bed for approx. $900. Not bad.
On of our church's ministries is Sharing Our Stuff. We collect furniture and household items to help people in need. I don't know anything about how to qualify, but here is the contact information.

go to CCA in The Colony and I think there is another one in Lewisville. It's like a salvation army but they have fairly nice stuff. I agree with the other mom....it's no big deal to not have all your furniture when you move in...just hunt around for cheap stuff that still looks good. good for you for not wanting to waste money on expensive furniture!!
try IKEA goodwill stores are a good resource to sometimes they have really nice things...
Along with craigslist and freecycle...try the Salvation Army. We have donated furniture to them before. I don't know what they do with it.
There is also ACO (Allen Community Outreach)
If you have the time, try out garage sales. You can find some good stuff cheap if you hit one right. I suggest going early.
You can try the Freecycle (www.freecycle.com) in your area and also Craiglist (www.craigslist.com). The stuff on Freecycle is free and on Craiglist, there is a free section but you can also find fairly cheap prices on the furniture in the sale section.
Good luck!
Natalie,
I'm sorry for your situation. I dont know if you have tried craigslist (it can be google), its almost like ebay but its locally here in Dallas. You can find anything on that website. You just have to spend a little time searching until you find the right item. But a lot the prices on craigslist is really reasonable.
Best of luck
T.
If you have a bed, then don't be in a rush. Keep your eyes open for sales and go to garage and estate sales on the weekends. My son got a table and 4 chairs for his apartment for $15! The seats of the chairs were dated, but all else was a very nice wood that just needed a little cleaning. Take your time and have a little fun scouting out garage sales. You will find many things if you are patient.
