Hi Moms!
Just wondering how long you feel is too long to go back and fill in the So What Happened?'s on your posts? I have posted things and received good advice, but for one reason or another (like the fact that I'm not on the computer every day), sometimes I haven't filled in my SWHs and I feel like I should, but then it seems like so much time has gone by, nobody probably cares anymore anyway. Is there a guideline you use for when you go back vs forgetting it? Do you always do one for every one of yours posts? None of my posts have been earth-shattering or particularly interesting. And yes, I realize I'm setting myself up to have to respond to this one quickly! :)
Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks ladies! That's about what I feel, too. I won't bother to go back and update really old ones and will just try harder to be more timely with future ones. And Felinestroller W, I think that would be a GREAT ideal! It really bothers me that you do the SWH to respond to comments that have already been made, but they may never know it unless they're that interested in your question to go back and check. (Hope you see this!) It really ends up being for the people who check out your question after you've already written it (the SWH). Seems a little backwards to me.

That is one of the 'things' I would like to have changed on this site...

It would be nice if anyone who had responded to a question would get a notification of a 'so what happened' update...from that original thread.

But, the 'powers' that be seem to be happy with the status quo.

I usually update my SWH once I've gotten enough answers to make a decision, or after the mini crisis has resolved. If it is the same day, great, it a week later, still good, if 2 years, well, at least I tried ;-)

Some folks never do. I usually do the same day or the next day. Within a few days is good.

i don't think everyone does this, some posts are just seeking quick advice, like maybe how do i clean my bathtub, you wouldn't need to go back and update oh the vinegar worked so we'll thanks for the recommendation.

but if your kid is super sick or there is a puzzling moral delimma you are facing i would like to have your update anytime you were ready to give it. but usually after 2 weeks i'ts pretty out of my mind.

I don't always go back and look at those but there are times that I do and would like to know even if it's been a week or so. I think if you want to share what happend go for it no matter how long it's been!

I'm hit or miss on going back and posting a SWH. Not all questions are Earth shattering.
When I posted looking for suggestions when I found out my daughter was sideways when I was pregnant with her I did go back after she was born and said it worked and I had the birth I wanted and it all went well. But I'm sure there are a few others that really didn't need them or I forgot and just figured it wasn't worth putting one on so late in the game.
I only go back to look at the SWH if it was something that really needed more info to answer to see if they updated or if I really wanted to know what the resolution was if it was something a bit more serious.
I don't think there's a set in stone time line.

It's nice when people fill them in early, but it's also never too late either. On boring days many of us will scroll through old posts we answered and it's nice to finally see "closure". So just do it :)

There are people that go back and check for updates, especially if they receive a flower for it a few days later.

I had someone respond to a question that I had asked a year ago! So people do scan the board for questions and responses! I would personally take the time to do a SWH if you want. No one is forcing you and there is no deadline that I am aware of.

Good luck!

I don't think there is a time frame. However, I sometimes go back to a post several times wondering what happened? Some of these post, get me really thinking and just wonder how it ends up. I like follow up; just like on the news, how are Michelle, Amanda and Gina doing, understand they need their privacy, but my curious mind wants to know.
