Static in My Hair!

I have a spray bottle I add a pump or two of conditioner, and water. I use this to untangle my daughters hair, but I also spray it on my hair to get rid of static.

We use hair conditioner rubbed on the hands, it rarely makes hair greasy. Helps to weigh down the hair and also helps keep it healthier when you wash it as alot of lotions/hair sprays have alcohol which is drying.

If you work in an office building, the air is definitely dryer due to recycled air rather than fresh. my scal p gets really itchy in the winter. For static, I have used static spray on a brush and put lotion on my hands and rubbed in my hair. I also agree with Infusium 23 leave in conditioner. It is more liquid than creamy and is fantastic.

In the winter I spray static guard on my brush before brushing. I also keep a small purse size static guard in my purse and have had to spray my hair directly with it at times. I like the spraying on the brush more, but spraying the hair directly doesn't seem to hurt it since I've been doing it for years!
You can also help prevent it by spraying your coat/hat/hood with the static guard. I spray mine and the kids quite often.

So amusing!!!! Lately it's been a HUGE problem. Hair is all over! I have tried additional hairspray but... no luck. I did run out of my conditioner and wondered if that's why I'm having such a problem. So I will be getting my conditioner this weekend. I, too, am curious if someone has the answer!

I'm having the same problem! People keep telling me to rub a dryer sheet on my hair. I've tried it and it sort-of works. The lotion thing is the other suggestion I've received.

I've made sure my house has humidifiers in it and if you get a small fountain for your desk at work it might help.

If someone else has other ideas I'd love to hear them!

My daughter has the same problem. We use Infusium 23, a leave-in conditioner. It works really well at taming the frizzies and flyaways. Just put it on last, after styling. It also washes out easily with shampoo so there is no build up. Hope it helps!

I too have had problems with static in my hair. I have used static guard on my hair brush and it works well. Last year I came across an Avon hair product that works like the static guard, but smells much better. Hope you find something in these responses that helps tame your static cling.

I'm a hair stylist. It's the weather! I've never had staticy hair before and I have it everytime I flat iron. I talked to the other girls and work and we all agreed it's honest to god the weather. There's a product called After Party by TIGI Bed Head. You can find it at Hair Cuttery's. It's in a hot pink bottle. All you need is less than a pea size drop... rub it throughout your hands and just barely run you hands through your hair. If your hair looks greasy, you've used too much. If this doesn't work... try a little light hold hair spray to weight it down.
