OK, I really had no where else to ask such a personal question so here it goes .....

I am almost 5 months preg and I am having an excessive discharge that is yellowish - I do NOT remeber this discharge with my previous child and when I went to the docotr he told me it was fine BUT he never examined me nor gave me the chance to tell him it was yellowish. I have done some on-line reaserch but everything I read kindof freaks me out.

Any ideas?

What can I do next?

Don't ever let your Dr go without telling him everything you want to tell him. A lot of times Drs want to rush you in and out, but they're getting paid a LOT of money, and you are going to him to make sure you and your baby have a good and healthy pregnancy. Sometimes yellow can mean an infection, but sometimes it can be totally normal. I would call your Dr or Nurse Practitioner and ask them. If he feels he needs to see you, he'll tell you to make an appointment, but maybe he can tell you over the phone if there's nothing to worry about or prescribe something for you.

I would tell the doctor again. Or call the nurse and run it by her.

If you have pain, itching, fever, or odor, definitly call or speak to the Dr or nurse again and insist they check. If it is just excess discharge with no other symptoms, it is probably mucous. I had the discharge with no other symptoms and the dr said it was mucous.

Sounds like an infection. I would call your doctor or go to the ER just to be sure and make them listen. I could be nothing but then again it could be something. I wouldn't take any chances.

I did have a yellowly jelly like discharge with two out of four of my kids and even after a pelvic they told me I was fine. They told me that it was my body making more mucous than needed for the plug and it was just overcompensation. Each person and each pregnancy is different but if you are truly worried about it, make sure someone does a pelvic or pap smear to ease your mind even if you have to pay a little extra because insurance may only pay for so many. If paying extra is the case, I haven't been anywhere that I've had to pay $40 for a pelvic but it all depends on the doctors office. If they still insist you are fine without the pelvic or pap when you are worried, I suggest finding a different doctor's office.
