I have two children, and my husband and I are really trying to make it work for me to stay home for a few years. However, he is a teacher, and we really struggle to make the finances work. I know everyone is looking for an easy way to make money, but do any of you know of some little jobs that I could do at home? I am a certified English teacher, and I have thought about trying to find some work proofreading. I am looking for anything that I could do for one to two hours a day. Ultimately, I would like to make around $300 a month. Of course, more than that would be great too!

Please share any ideas!

I also want to add that taking care of children for others probably won't work for me. My four-year-old son goes to two preschools (paid for by my in-laws) and speech therapy. I drive him around quite a bit, and I don't think other people would like their little ones riding in the car so much.

Tutoring is great work - you can charge anywhere from $25-$50 an hour depending on the market in your area and your experience. I work for a test prep company part time and I love it. Starting pay is $25 and hour or more and they design the curriculum for you. You can work as a classroom instructor (evening) or private tutor (after school, evenings, weekends - make your own hours). The college board and ACT, which run the SAT and ACT, pay people to grade essays. I don't know how much that pays, but it's pretty easy work.
