Hi N.

I just delivered at Swedish at the end of December. The OB/Gyn I had was Dr Brennon she was awesome!! My first child was born at Northwestern and my second at Swedish. I found the experience at Swedish to be just fine. The only thing I was somewhat uncomfortable with was that they don't have their docs on the maternity floor, instead they are "on call" I didn't realize this until the day I delivered. What this means is the nurses are calling the doc with updates and the docs are telling them how to proceed. I didn't like it because toward the end things were moving quickly. My body wanted to push and the nurses wanted me to wait for the doc to get there. So,other than that the experience was good. The nurses were excellent and the rooms were nice too!
Hope this helps with your decision

I delivered both my kids at Swedish in 2001 and 2003. The experience was incredible! I think they have a good mix of medical and natural. We didn't want to go overboard on the "natural" way but I wanted to see how far I could go and use lots of techniques to keep me from taking drugs. They were so supportive of all of our needs/choices. My first baby was delivered by Dr. Vancauweleart. The second by a doctor in practice with Dr. Thorpe (I can't remember her name). It was a great experience. Hope that helps!

Hi N.....K. again. The twin moms nursing support group I told you about yesterday includes (although I don't know how active they are anymore) a labor and delivery nurse and a midwife, both who work at Swedish Covenant. Email Denyse and ask her about them....
