I have been trying to get them to get my daughters father for child support since 2006. He lives in another state and they just sit on everythign I turn in and fill out that they have sent me. I do everything they ask and they do nothing with it. Im so upset I jsut have no idea what to do. All I want is for them to get off there butt and do something for my daughter. She will be 16 and never seen him or heck got a dime from him. He told me 16 yrs ago that I should stay with my mom and he would send money and get me and her when he had a place for us. As you can tell that never happen. Just want to get this going. Any advise on how to light a fire under them to get this moving? I have all my copies and emails.

Haven't had personal experience with this, but had a client several years ago that had to pay back child support and his dtr was 26 yrs old at the time the child support suit was entered by the S. Dakota Atny Gen. Hang in there. Which Attny Gen's office are you working with, in your home state or his? Try going thru the other one. As a last resort after exhausting both Attny Gen Offices, may have to see an attorney of your own who would work on contingency fee, if possible. The fee would be around 33% (or more maybe now) only if suit was won. However, that is better than nothing. By the time all this is done, your dtr could use the money to go to college. Good luck.

Contact the Texas State Attorney General's Office for the Guardian Adium Liten program. My spelling is off but you get the drift. Good luck. Also, if you do pursue this avenue, please request that you receive child support should your children attend college at some point.

Try contacting the child support office in the state that he lives in. They may be able to help speed up the process. The AG's office didn't help my husband at all when he was trying to place himself on child support, but when his daughter's grandmother filed in her state everything was taken care of within a couple of months of her filing. Only other suggestion I could give, is to stay on them, and don't just settle for talking to the customer service department. Ask for a supervisor, and get them to committ to a follow up, and when they don't come through ask for their supervisor, and so on. Good luck!
