No. They are professionals.
And I gotta believe that when O. looks at THAT many Hoo-Hahs every day, a waxed O. won't really stand out! Lol
Funny Q, Molly!
Would you feel awkward going to the gyno completely waxed?
Charity, that is how I feel, but I am soooo not. And it's a man and he's not too terrible looking either. Awkward......
QUEEN! WTH??? I almost had coffee come out of my nose! What a crazy bat! lol!

The only awkwardness would come from any odd comments that you might make. Case in point: Last year my husband had to do a pap on a longtime patient of his. She's a bit odd--one year for Christmas she gave my husband a book entitled, "The Best of American Erotica, 2010." Anyways, for her pap exam she came in, fully waxed, and while my husband was doing the pap she said to him, "I hope you're not hungry."
WHAT?!! My husband and his nurse just stared at each other and had NO CLUE what the patient meant by that comment. Needless to say, he no longer sees the woman. He's passed her off to the 1 female doctor in their practice.
So, go, try not to feel awkward, and if you do, just make sure you don't say anything :)
I have a great story on this. When I was at the hospital to deliver my first child, I was feeling a little modest and kept trying to cover myself up when I could. After hours of pushing, baby started struggling so they are going to prep me for an emergency c-section.
Here is the convo:
Nurse: "So I see that you are a little modest and you prefer to cover up. I want to warn you that when we get to the OR you will be on the table and wont be able to cover up at all".
Me: OK
Nurse: No reason for anyone to feel uncomfortable here. What do you do for a living?
Me: I work for an insurance company
Nurse: Oh, so you work on a computer all day?
Me: Yes
Nurse: Well think of it this way... when YOU are at work you walk around your office and see computer screens everywhere and you dont think anything about it right? Well, for US at work, we walk around and see lots of vajays and we dont think anything about it either
LOL :0) it was exactly what I needed to hear at that moment.
Is there a way to NOT feel awkward, no matter what?
Yes, I'd feel awkward. In any situation ever.
I feel awkward no matter what. =/
ooohhh good question!!!
I personally don't do a COMPLETE wax...I do bikini etc but not full...
when I went to my Ob/GYN for my last yearly - i totally spaced and didn't shave!! I told her SORRY!! She laughed and said - it doesn't matter to me!! I see EVERYTHING!! And boy does she!!
So if you completely wax - go for it!! It won't be a surprise to them!
yes! Dunno Y but once I went completely bare and I was embarrassed. Like I thought that the gyno would think I was doing it for them. LOL.
ETA: Funny that we both had that thought, I don't know why I would have thought anyway especially since I always choose women OBs. My favorite part is when it is over!
This is getting good, too bad my coffee is cold now.
Queen-I am baffled. Wow she really failed at that joke!
heh.
one of my favorite ob/gyns ever was a dude. delivered my 2nd kid. but oddly enough i got weirded out by having a guy in my bits when i got older and switched to a lady gyno.
but if this is your usual doc, i don't think the wax would be anything to worry about. i doubt it's his first<G>.

I always feel awkward especially with a new doctor. I have so many family members in the medical field and they have seen it all so I wouldn’t worry about being waxed or not.
Now if you put something in there that shouldn’t be they WILL get a good laugh.
nope its not awkward at all... i would feel more awkward if i wasnt freshly showered. they dont care if your waxed, shaved, tattooed, or growing a forest. they are professionals and probably see it at least once a day if not more.
Nope. Not at all! I'd feel even more awkward going in with a bush..but that's just me! Lol.
No, they've seen it all.
Molly, they see the young women and the old women. No hair, peach fuzz, landing strips, trimmed and full as nature provides. They see shaved legs and hairy legs too. Pregnant women usually can't get down there to do anything near the end anyway.
I wouldn't worry about it.
The only time I ever felt awkward about a good looking doctor, Molly, was when I was 15 years old and had mono. I was so sick that I asked my grandma to take me to the hospital (my parents were on an out-of-state trip.) This doctor poked on my stomach, like they all do, and even as sick as a dog, I was embarrassed because I looked SO bad, and he was SO good looking! And my vajay wasn't even part of the equation!
Thank goodness I got over good looking doctors after that!
Dawn
I am pretty sure they have seen it all and are there to look to make sure everything is healthy and working. Don't worry about it.
queen- gosh that lady sounds like she enjoyed her visits to the gyno!? was she hoping he;d take her up on the offer? creepy!
i do whatever i'm doing at the time. they;ve seen it all so i dont think it matters.
