What a bizzare question! No one better show up at my house on anything other than Halloween..ever! LOL.

How odd for some places to "design" Halloween to suit their needs.....strange!

On Halloween, whatever night it falls on. If anyone showed up at my door any other night I'd have nothing for them.

I agree, it must be done on Sunday.. I would be totally unprepared and shocked if a kiddo showed up at my door on Saturday. I would definitely do Sunday!

If a kid showed up on my door Saturday night, I'd tell him him Halloween is Sunday, come back then! I don't understand why so many parents are trying to change the date this year...it's just weird to me! IDK, maybe it's that controlling neurotic mom thing, again.

Sunday, of course. That's when Halloween is -why on earth would we trick or treat on Saturday? When it's on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday -we trick or treat on those days. Sorry -nothing against you because you're just asking for people's answers -but the whole idea of needing to trick or treat on Saturday when Halloween in on Sunday is completely ridiculous to me. Any kid coming to my door any other day than the 31st won't get anything but a message to come on the 31st. These towns and cities trying to change it need to focus on something else.

Sunday. You always trick or treat on the actual "holiday".

Sunday - the actual holiday
I read in the news that this is a trend parents are trying to start this year. And while I can see the wisdom of trying to move trick or treating to a non school night I hope it won't catch on. I think the end result will be that people will split 50/50 on the issue, which will mean two nights of trick or treaters. It's fun for one night, but I think two nights of it will get old.

Our city actually has trick-or-treat hours so kids aren't coming around all night. And it's always on Halloween. I can't imagine anybody trick-or-treating on another night.

On Halloween, Sunday, at my house.

I think it is weird to designate another day. Another day is not Halloween.

My mom lives in rural AL and she mentioned that her area designated Saturday for trick or treating. I think that is absurd. She'll probably end up with trick or treaters both nights.

My treats will be given out on Halloween.

Our village (on their website) has trick-or-treating on Sunday between specific hours. I'm sure you could go later or earlier, but it's set up to be during mainly daylight which is safer! You could check your village and any plans they have for the community. Have fun!

In our area, they have scheduled times in each area...some are for Friday evening and some are for Sunday evening. They even tell the hours. Greedy little goblins can even go to different areas of the city, parents permitting, and double their loot. I wouldn't mind getting double the use out of one costume, but my little one is under two. The MIL's church is doing something on Wed night, so we might go there as well. Talk about a candy haul...that would be the mother-load. LOL. Happy Halloween everyone!

Sunday. I cannot imagine that anyone in my neighborhood will do anything different. I would hate hate hate for a kid to come to the door on Saturday looking for candy. I would likely give out candy if that happened but will also be leaving the front light off to discourage it.

We're going to the community center on Saturday for a Halloween event and then Sunday we're trick or treating around our neighborhood.

From my experience it depends on the city. Where I grew up there were designated days and times for each city as to when trick or treating would take place. Now where I live, it's always on the actual date of halloween and there really is no set time. We usually just go out just after dark because the houses giving out candy then have their lights on.

For "events" they are holding them on Saturday but actual Halloween is when the kids trick or treat at houses.

Where I live on their facebook page they posted that they have received a lot of calls about when trick or treating will be. They said that it will be Sunday as that is Halloween and just because it's Sunday does not mean that you change when you do it. Some churches might have stuff Sunday cause they want the people to be in services on Sunday.

We don't get to choose what day we go. We only go on the day that the city has designated. To go any other day would be silly. I don't particularly agree with the city, but that's the day we go. This year, it's Thursday.

Sunday. I think unless the community or neighborhood "says" let's do it on Saturday, you'll catch a lot of people off guard.

If you go on the wrong day people will not come to the door or be participating and that would be very disappointing to the kiddo's. Call your city offices and ask if they have designated it on Saturday, most have not.

We're going to some parties Saturday. But Sunday is Halloween and so that's when we'll trick-or-treat. Halloween is often on a school night and hasn't stopped folks before...maybe its because Sunday is a church day for families and some have evening church... Still, I won't be ready for tweaters on Sat.
