Is it normal to have female problems after having your tubes tied after having a child? I had my tied after having my child over a year ago and I have been in the E.R. twice with horrible pain that I just could not handle any longer. I have had cists on my ovaries. Now my OB/GYN is going to check to see if I have any more cists and/or if they have bursts. My hormone level is always saying that I am pregnant. Could this be part of the pain that I am in all the time. I am all for having my baby factor being taken out but others tell me that I am nuts for wanting this done. All I can think of is that I want out of the pain.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I went to the doctor and come to find out i have more!! 7 more to be exact right now. 4 on the left and 3 on the right. They are the kind that if I would have them removed they would just come right back. So the doc is doing some blood work and checking some things out I will be seeing him again on Jan. 11th. He will let me know why my body is always acting as if i am pregnant. and if there are any meds that will help this problem.

Thanks to everyone that helped.

I really don't think that you should be having positive Hcg levels if you aren't pregnant. Not to scare you, but you might want to get a second opinion. If you are getting levels like that, there is something in your body that is making it think you are pregnant. I had a friend who had a molar pregnancy which put her in lots of pain and horrible morning sickness...it is fetal tissue that didn't form into a baby properly so then they have to remove it. Even after removing it, she still had positive Hcg levels and they should have gone down. She ended up having a form of cancer because the tissue kept regrowing (which is what caused her to have the positive levels). It was treatable and after some chemo her levels are dropping fast but still it is very scary. Not something you want to take lightly. If your dr isn't agreeing to look into it much more, I would be going to another doctor.

Hey T., I'm sorry to be hearing about your pain. I have a question for you. Has the doctor ever checked for endotrometriosis? I had alot of female problems before, between, and after I had both my kids. I decided with all the pain and discomfort I was having, it was time to get it taken care of. I was 27 when I had a complete hysterectomy. I was done having children. I would ask your doctor about the endo if it hasn't been brought up. Depending on if you want anymore kids, if you decide to take the baby factor out. I feel so much better after having mine done.
Good luck, I hope you feel better.

I had a problem similar to your and spent a few nights in the er without any reason for the pain. So I went to my qyno and she did a laproscopy, <not sure if I spelled it right> she said everything inside was ok but that my uterus had fell and the only way to stop the pain was to either tack my uterus up or take it out, since I had all the children I wanted I had her remove it. Since then I have been pain free, plus I have the luxury of no monthly visitors <lol> Everyone has their own opinion but in the end its how you feel. I don't know if this is your problem but my pain was like it felt like everything ws falling out. I don't know if this will help you but I wish you all the best of luck.

If the pain is from cysts on your ovaries, having your uterus taken out (hysterectomy) will not change anything. And I don't know any doctor that would take out your ovaries at your age. Doing that would put you into menopause and you would have to take supplemental hormones, it would only be done in extreme emergencies at your age. When you have had your tubes tied you are at risk for an ectopic pregnancy (the baby starts forming in the fallopian tube that you had tied) and that can cause a lot of pain, and if undetected can become an emergency situation. Even though your tubes are tied you could try taking birth control pills to help control the cysts, talk to your doctor about your options. If he/she does not give you any except waiting for the next one, then get a second opinion. I do not believe the cysts are because of having your tubes tied. Good Luck.

I would definately continue to talk to your doctor about this. I never had any pain with my tubal. Since you've had cysts before, I would even get a second opinion. Usually you have to go through a lot of other treatments before they will do a full hysterectomy, but if it's necessary, it's a very routine thing. Plus, with your hormones out of whack, they can also put you estrogen to even that out as well.

Just keep plugging away until you get some answers!

Are you sure you aren't having a tubal pregnancy? Have they done an ultrasound? I have that checked out first.
