I went through the same thing that you did...so sorry. They go away after a couple of weeks I believe. I used the cream and pads - the pads have directions on them to even use as a compress and you actually put one on & leave it there for a while - I walked around & all - no problem. That seemed to speed it up for me. Fiber and lots of water will help you go to the bathroom. But if they don't go away with the home remedies, the doctor told me to let them know and they'd give me something, so worse comes to worse, they can help too. Don't worry - it'll get better. Hang in there!! Congrats!!

Hello E..
I went through the same thing-my daughter is now 17mths. I couldn't sit down for 2 weeks w/out wanting to die. I also had an an episiotomy on top of it. I would make sure you call your obgyn and let them know. Then, take stool softner. They will tell you the best kind at your doctor's office. I also used those wipes w/ the witch hazel-they helped alot. They also gave me a cream to apply at the hospital-I would ask about that too! Please know it does get better and that so many of us go through it-you are not alone! Take care

Try to eat more fiber. Preparation H works too.

I had the worst ones with my 2nd. Go to the OB and they can give you some better cream to use on it. It's mostly home remedies that do the trick. Increase fiber. Lots of baths. They are sooooo painful.

Try the hemroid pads at the drug store. Store them in the fridge for instant relief. They will go away eventually.
Congratulations!

Try freezing some prep H wipes or gauze pads soaked in witch hazel as well as freezing suppositories for immediate comfort measures. A warm sitz bath with epsom salts will help too. Anusol HC-1 is the best product on the market for topical creams.

BUT - please see your doc - sometimes the hemmrhoids can be thrombosed and often will require medical intervention to alleviate your discomfort. Don't suffer in silence and you are not alone! I have certainly been there like you. Tell your doc and get some relief!

Good luck.

Hi, I was in your same situation. I also just had a son 4 weeks ago, although he came 2 months early. Mine were sooo painful, i couldn't stand, sit, or lie down. I went to my OB and the gave me a prescription, and said they were on the verge of being thrombost, and if they couldn't get them better by the weekend I would need to get them lanced.

They had me doing real hot sitz baths, then ice, alternating between the 2. They said that alone will help keep them being thrombost, and the medicine had some sort of numbing ageint in it to relieve the pain.

I agree with stephanie, please go to the dr. You will feel so much better.

Take baths they help relieve some pain. You also need to get hemorrhoid pads, they help A LOT with the pain/discomfort.

Hi,
I went through the same thing!!!! OWWWWWWW!!!! Anyway, you should take Senekot for the b-room thing- def works better than whatever the hospital told me to take. For me anyway, I thought I had hemroids but I actually had a bad case of diaper rash from those awful hospital pads. You might want to try some of your baby's desitin... it actually did wonders for me.

I went through the same thing...actually not realizing what they were!! I went to the Dr. b/c I could not even turn over in bed they were so painful. They were thrombosed and had to be surgically removed. It was a rough couple of weeks recovery, but I have no issues with it now and feel great. Now I am pregnant w/ baby 2 and hope it does not happen again :)Don't be afraid to have them checked out by the Dr., mine actually got me into the specialist that same day and surgery the next.

Hi! I know what you are going through; I had a ton of stitches down there as well. AND I was constipated! Tucks pads helped a lot. I called my OBGYN and found out that I could take a much larger dose of the stool softener than it said on the box, but definitely talk to your dr about that before increasing it. Also, and I know that they can be gross, but prunes. Prune juice works even faster if you can tolerate drinking it.
Good Luck! This too shall pass. (no pun intended :))

Sounds strange but prop up for your feet when you are on the toilet. It helps ease the pressure which can cause hemroids. Also buy some TUCKS and use them after every bathroom break, good luck.
