I use Johnson and Johnson No More Tangles spray leave-in conditioner. It works MIRACLES!
My 1 yr old daughter is half black and half Puerto Rican and has really tight curly hair. It is really becoming poofy, dry, and unmanageable to comb/style and Im looking for a leave - in conditioner, oil, cream, something that will make it easier to comb and moisturize it so it doesint look like a big frizzy afro all day. She really does have nice hair and get compliments all the time but its getting damaged from the combing and I need something to control it throught the day. ALL suggestions will be appriciated! Thanks.

I have a younger sister with that same hair....Her beautician (sorry if its not spelled right) told her to not brush or comb it because it damages the hair and makes it puff out more. She said after it has been washed to finger comb it with your fingers and put in an all day conditioner(any brand). I also have a girlfriend that uses baby oil on her wet hair an that seems to work for her. Best of Luck!
Hi,
I am mixed ( 1/2 West Indian and 1/2 Korean) and so are my children (father is Italian). My experience is that this will be a life long issue. Curly hair is always dry and frizzy. What I do for my girls (ages 2 and 3) and myself is wash only 2 times a week and condition every day (Sometimes for the girls I use my own conditioner instead of the children's conditioner because it has more mosturizer like Aussie deep conditioning). I leave in a little conditioner after each bath and comb with a wide tooth comb or soft brush then I will usually braid their hair into a ponytail for the night. I would suggest if you're daughter will sit through it, is have you or someone braid her hair in small little braids (not neccessarily cornroll) but little individual braids. This will last for a month and you don't have to worry about trying to manage/maintain it everyday. I did that with my littlest one when she was 1yrs old and she acutally liked seeing her hair get braided and I kept her busy with some toys and the hair brush.
Good luck!!
Hi C., I am a hairdresser and have worked with hair like this, try a little hand cream, mixed with a drop of baby oil, like the size of a pea, and work it through wet hair after combing with detangler. Comb thru and air dry, never use a blow dryer, thats were all the frzz happens. Good luck! L. C.
My daughter is 4 y/o and she is half black half white. Very long curly hair that if you look at it in the wrong way it ends up looking like mufasa.Suave makes an apple detangler that I use every time I do her hair.It makes all the difference.try it
For my little on I use Baby Love mosituring hairdress lotion. You can find it in the section where they sell black hair products. It seems to do the trick. There is also Pink Lotion but it may be a little too heavy.

hi C., my kids all have this beautiful silky hair like dad, im so jealous, but i have poufy/curly/wavy/thick/dry hair, and lots of it. i try all kinds of stuff, but personally, i wouldnt put adult stuff with all those chemicals in it on my kids head, especially not to leave in. i would try a simple oil, maybe a light one like jojoba would be good. there is also an oil that i use on my hair that i looooove, its called wonder 8 oil and its with the black haircare products. i would use any oil very sparingly, wash as little as possible, dont comb when wet, dont rub with a towel, just gently pat/sqeeze dry if anything. hth, D.
