Wedding Anniversary Ideas. - Gilbert,AZ

I really enjoyed the Hot air balloon excursions and we did the Champagn brunch. We also don't have family in town and with 3 kids I feel bad asking my friends all the time. Do you know if any of your neighbors have teenagers. Your kids friends have older siblings who babysit? I actually stopped at the highschool bus stop once and asked if any of the girls babysit and gave them my number to have their parents call me.
Every summer I try to visit my family in CA so we are incorporating our anniversary around that. We will visit for 2 weeks but hubby and I will leave the kids for 1 of those weeks and go on a small cruise. also check out livingsocial.com and those sights. they send out discounts to Phoenix area hotels all the time since summer is their off season and they try to drive local business when the out of towners are afraid of the heat.

Is there any way one of your family members would be willing to come and visit? Buying one ticket for Grandma or Grandpa to come and stay for a couple nights would be a lot less than buying 4. Then you can plan daytime activities (splash pads or bounce houses or whatever you usually do during the day in July) then you can go out at night.

Another option would be a short cruise. I know that there are some that leave out of LA or San Diego (so not too long of a drive) and are 3 days (long weekend?). I don't know how old your other two kids are, but they should be able to do the kids club, or (depending on which ship/cruise line) nursery. Then you will only have to have the baby with you all the time (which is basically what happens when you are going to have a breastfeeding 3 month old any way). Paying for 2 adults or 2 adults and 3 kids is not that much since you are basically paying a discount rate for them. If you are on a budget, just be sure that you don't do any excursions or get too much to drink.

Or, just wait until the next year. I know 10 years is a big deal (Congrats by the way!), but having a 3 month old and breastfeeding you are going to have a couple of hours max to get away. If you want to do a big get away, wait until 11th anniversary, save this year and next and then do your trip.

I somewhat agree with Christina M. You could wait until the big #11 for a big getaway. As for this year, you could just do a really nice dinner. Most of my friends also have a few kids, but are usually willing to watch my kids for me when I need it. Or, for a night away, you can find a college student or a young couple without kids who can come stay with them at your house. If you don't know anyone, ask around- I'm sure you can locate someone.
For one of our anniversaries my hubby planned a weekend in town at a resort for us. We had a couple's massage, nice dinner, and a restful night's sleep (we had 2 kids at the time, so that didn't always happen at home). His brother and wife took care of our kids for us.

wow, your life sounds like mine minus the new baby. I would start saving even $10 per week now if you could. Start also hunting for a babysitter. Maybe family would come in to visit you that weekend and stay with the kids so you can at least have an overnight at a hotel. Find a really nice restaurant, your favorite, and make reservations. maybe a couple's massage, maybe just a nice dinner and a movie. Maybe a nice dinner and get a picnic blanket and go out somewhere under the stars. here we have a Vineyard which is really nice and romantic where you can just sit outside and enjoy each other. Maybe you invite your favorite couple and go to dinner with them. My husband and I went to dinner and get a hotel and the next day we got up and went to the Titans game....we got the hotel next to the stadium so had breakfast and walked over. Find something you both enjoy and just having the time away without the kids is sometimes enough.

if you want to stay at home and not spend much money, you could get some wine, put the kids to bed, have appetizers with your wine, sit outside, listen to music, or rent a movie. You could even do fondue...it is delicious when you do the cheese with your meat and then the chocolate with your dessert! Or just have appetizers and then do the chocolate fondue for dessert items like cheesecake bites, marshmallows, graham crackers, strawberries, etc Have champagne. Exchange a love letter or sweet card. Listen to music from the era of when you were young or dating....we love to do that and just talk. Literally talk with no interruptions. If you do have money, get him a nice watch. I got my husband a really nice watch that I started on layaway early to help pay for it and he got me a necklace with the diamond from my first wedding ring. Maybe do a couple's cooking class, that seems to be the rage now. You can bring wine and learn to cook at the same time! They have couple's painting classes too where you bring wine....find some friends and do it together. You have plenty of time to start saving a little bit at a time or to put something nice on layaway. You could even do a cabin for one night....AZ has many spas too!

I would look for an all enclusive hotel/resort close to you or a family member. Plan to spend one or two nights, you could take the kids to the waterpark during the day and for the evening have a family member or friend come for a couple of hours, (buy them dinner and gas) and have that person stay in the room with the kids (order room service) and you and hubby go for a romantic dinner and dancing in the hotel/resort. I would check rates for a midweek booking if you can take the time off, it may be less midweek than on a weekend.
