Wedding Favors - Covina,CA

Anyone have any ideas for wedding favors? I'm stumped! We don't want to spend a lot of money on the favors because most people will leave them behind of not want them. We met online and we thought of doing mousepads, but they are pricey. We have about 60 people coming. I'm crafty and capable of making things, but don't even know what to make. Our colors are sangria (deep purpleish wine) and tangerine and we're getting married down in San Diego, but not on the beach.

What can I do next?

J.,

You are so right! People do tend to leave things behind, so you're smart to not spend a fortune. In my opinion, the best favors are things that have a picture of you, things that are personal to your story, or something edible! My husband and I love to play cards, so for our favor, we bought decks of "collector" cards from MI and CA (our home states), glued a pic of us on the center of the card, laminated it and turned it into a magnet. Each person got a card. People seemed to really like it. And it wasn't expensive! You said you are crafty...if you were doing something edible, maybe make truffles dipped in white chocolate, but color the chocolate with your wedding colors? You can get little tiny boxes for candies, but they might be pricey, not sure. That's all I've got in my head right now, but maybe it's a start! :) Take care.

An easy wedding favor that I have seen is a CD. Create a mix of the music that you and your fiance enjoy and will be playing at the wedding then burn it to a CD. You can easily create 'labels' that are personalized with the date and a pic as well. Burning all of the CD's would take time, but it is inexpensive. Good luck!

I would do something that is edible but not too fancy to eat. One of the cutest I saw was a "box full (hershey) kisses from the mister and missus" cheap and simple and yummy. Another I went to had like a candy "bar" with an assortment of goodies in the wedding colors and little small bags to put what you want in it. really cute and people took what they liked. My sis in law had these beautiful white chocolate butterflies hand made but they were so pretty no one ate them. Of course I have been to many weddings that did not do favors. I didn't care at all. Congratulations! your colors sound beautiful!

If you really want easy...my cousin gave each guest a $1.00 lottery ticket. Since you are crafty, you can "dress" up the envelopes in your wedding colors.

We bipassed the favors completely. It just seemed like a waste of money. No one missed them. (I think) :)

I have 2 ideas, depending on how you are with your hands:

1) Hershey's to the rescue: 1 "kiss" & 1 "hug" in a nice, matching swatch of fabric tied with a ribbon.

2) Here's a great site to order stuff from: http://www.orientaltrading.com/party-supplies/wedding/wed...

I have ordered things from them before, and the price is very good.

Congratulations!

I hope you have a wonderful wedding. Here are some ideas:

You can have personalized M&M's made - http://www.mymms.com/customprint/

or special candy wrappers that have your Monogram and names/wedding date (you can have them made via ebay and get 300 for $18.99.

or votive candle labels; or personalized notebooks; personalized coffee favors; or wildflower seed packets (for eco-friendly gift)

For your bridesmaids gifts, you might consider giving them one of my gift certificates for a massage. I do outcall (meaning I could go to where they are if they prefer)
