Need some ideas on where to have a wedding reception for about 300 guests. Nothing formal, but definitly something inside. Our budget isn't very big, but we'd like to see what we can get. We are planning for a Friday late afternoon ceremony and then would like the reception to begin around 7pm. Hoping to find something with chairs, tables, and linens provided. Both of our family and friends love to dance (and drink!!). We live in the midcities area and would like to stay somewhat local. Nothing in Dallas but more towards Fort Worth or Arlington.

Thanks!!!

What can I do next?

I have been to several weddings at the YWCA in Downtown Fort Worth... I am not sure about the price tho. I got married in Weatherford at Chandor Gardens; mine was all outside, but they do have indoor weddings. My sister got married in Grandview at the Beaumont Ranch, probably a little bit of a drive for you tho, but it is aneat place. I was also in a wedding this past April and the reception was at the Ashton Depot in Downtown Fort Worth. I am sure this is not much help, but just thought I would tell ya anyways! Good luck!

Our reception was much like what you describe - about 300ppl, bar-b-que, alcohol, dancing - lots of fun! We had ours at the Somerville County Expo Center (Glen Rose). You may check around to see if something is available in the Stockyards or if there is an Expo Center around your wedding. My brother and sister in law had a large reception with dinner, alcohol and dancing at one of the country clubs (Mira Vista?) can't remember the name - it was beautiful but probably pretty pricey . . . Good Luck! When you are driving around try to take notice of large places you think would hold your group - even if they don't offer a "package" or aren't your typical reception choice you'd be surprised at how little they charge.
