I live in the North County and would like to know if someone could recommed a really good child dentist. My son is 1 and will be 2 in December, but I want to take him because he has yellow plaque on the back of his bottem teeth already and we do brush regularly. I understand that this will happen but it's really bugging me. :) Also does anyone have any good tips on how I can make brushing fun for him?

What can I do next?

My dentist recommends 2.5 or so fir first visit unless there's problems. You can take you r child to a regular dentist. some pediatric dentists won't let the parent go back to the chair with the child. You might want to ask about that. I personally know Dr. Andrew Kim who's a pediatric dentist who has an office in Hazelwood. I think we'll just take our daughter to my dentist because we live south, but I wouldn't hesitate to see him...he's very nice and good with kids.

My dentist also said first visit at 3 unless there is a problem. Although he did stress that we (the parent) needs to brush their teeth every night before bed to get rid of the days residue. He said I could let my daughter brush her own teeth in the morning (she's 18 months old right now) They also recommend bringing the child in when you are getting your teeth cleaned before you bring them in for their first visit so that they can see that you go too and it's OK.

My dentist is Dr Wolken in Clayton. They are a "family" dentistry, so both kids and adults can go there. I like them a lot. Let me know if you are interested, and I can dig up the phone number for you.

I think I first took my daughter at about age 3. We go to Woodland Dental on Howdershell. They are really good with kids.

My name is J. (Ja-kesha) and I have five children. We began dental visit when my children would sit and let the dentist take a look. I have found that doctor Candice Wakefield at the Kids Dental Zone is wonderful! Both Dr. Wakefield and her staff have wonderful customer service skills, I really love her receptionist Jo-ann, they really make you feel like they appreciate being able to serve YOU!

I hope you give them a try!
