What Are the Best Kinds of Shoes?

My 5 year old daughter inherited my bad feet. She has flat feet, a high instep, and claw toes. She has been complaining about her legs lately. This is telling me that she isn't getting enough arch support. I am in the process of looking at custom orthotics but also need indoor school shoes. So does anyone know the better brands of shoes to buy and where would I get the best price. I know if I don't get this fixed and help her she will have many more problems later in life.

What can I do next?

Well I can tell you this I have very flat feet and no instep and I was even denied joining the army because of it, I later found out that I have spina bifida, inny not outy, and when I was young my legs would hurt so bad that that my parents would have to rub my legs every night just so I could sleep, The best place I know for shoes is McClinden's in Southgate, MI They are on Fort st btwn Eureka and Northline, They specialize in all kinds of shoes for people with special needs, Big feet, little feet, wide feet, They are very reasonable in price, I would recommend you to at least check them out. Good Luck and God Bless. K.

When I was that age, I had to wear Thomas heels for arch support and pronation. If you google Thomas heels, you'll find a little information - I didn't find alot.

My son has pronated ankled due to a syndrome he has... the ortho doc didn't want to prescribe him inserts for his shoes..
So, my parents bought him a pair of Sketchers <which I find to be quite comfortable and good quality> and then bought some inserts at Wallgreens. His are orange. I want to say they are made by Dr. Schols, but I can't remember. His walking corrected pretty quickly and the ware patterns on his shoes are gone.

good luck!
