B..
I have an old DS, but I'm assuming these games are still relevant. I think Animal Crossing, Let's Draw, Cooking Mama and Nintendogs would all fit the bill.
My DD is getting a Nintendo DSi for her 7th birthday. There are so many games out there, I'm not sure which ones to get. She loves anything creative (including cooking, gardening, and art) and also likes animals, science, puzzles, educational, and dress up games. I think role playing might be too difficult for her.
If you have a child around the same age as my daughter, and they have a Nintendo DSi, what are their favorite games?
Thank you! :)
Thanks, everyone! These are some great ideas. Thanks for helping a mama overwhelmed by choices!

1. Cooking Mama
2. Magic School Bus: Oceans
3. Nintendo Let's Draw
well my kids are 3 adn 4 a little younger then yours, but they love love dumb baby games, and pet games to where you have to take care of the baby and dog. They also love racing games, and the barbie salon, they want the lalaloopsy game, so that will be the next one they get after we get back from our trip if they are good at grandmas in 2 weeks, i think its rated E. Dont buy the EC, early childhood games, shes to old for that, my 3yo says their boring after about a week of playing it, she did it all... But there are alot to chose from, they have the kids cooking ones, and also you might want to invest in some games for yourself to, i steal theirs all the time... lol
you can also download games, like tetris and some other games she might like.
my daughter is 6 and her favorite games are the cooking mama games and barbie games there is a barbie puppy one and another that you get to style hair and do makeup

This is where to go to see the games and the ratings of it.
The "E" rating, means it is for kids or for everyone.
Also good is:
1) Brain Age
2) Cooking Mama
3) Super Scribblenauts
4) Professor Layton
5) The "Lego" series of games, is also very fun. Even for adults.
But... some games require reading... the directions and prompts. So, you need to make sure your daughter can read these things. Or they will constantly be asking you "what does this say?" as they play.
lets see my 5 year old has hello kitty games, i spy, pinkalicious, my little pony, tangrams, monster high, i love puppies and i love kitties
My dd, 8, was given a DS when she was 4. @@ Anyhow, it has helped her fight the only child syndrome of rainy days and boredom as well as helping her to learn how to read! She has enjoyed playing Scooby Doo games, Mario Brothers, Sonic games and just general puzzle games that I've gotten for the both of us to play.
I just asked my 6 soon to be 7 year old and this is what she said (she has a 3DS):
I love Horses
Littlest Pet Shop
Hello Kitty Let's Have Fun
She has a couple more but these are her favorite.
Cooking Mama is a lot of fun, my son and myself like Big Brain Academy.
I am sure you can find some creative games that have her favorite characters in them.
