To learn to use the sewing machine I bought; and take the materials I bought for a quilt for my daughter and actually make them into one. :)
Ok, I see a lot questions posted just for fun, so I thought I would do one that was really lighthearted as well :D
k, so here are mine:
1) Eat well and lose 70lbs this year, getting back into all my "real" clothes
2) Work out 4 days per week
3) Read my Bible daily
4) Take my kids on at least one fun outing each week that is not a store of any kind!!
5) Keep my house a bit more organized
k, so those are mine, very basic but all necessary!!! I'd love to hear what other mamas are working on this year and Happy New Year ladies!

:) I like this one :)
I actually made my last NY resolution several years ago... and am still sticking to it:
To never wait for the New Year ever again to implement change in my life but to seize each chance as it comes, and to cut myself slack when life intervenes.
So I'm not allowed to make one. But I like yours.
Awesome goals! Mine are
1) Run a half marathon this year (I'm giving myself 6 months to train so my husband will be back to do it with me)
2)Stop yelling so much
3)Read my Bible more
4)Finish my 4 kids Baby Scrapbooks
1. Lose 20lbs by June (beach season!)
2. in january track my spending..feb develop a budget & follow it
3. start a gratitude journal
For me it is getting my basement cleaned out and getting rid of the stuff we do not need. I don't know how this happens. It is like the stuff is part rabbit and just keep multiplying. Also, keeping my kids out of the basement so it stays clean. I go through the stuff and end up with just a few boxes but they get down there and suddenly a tornado hit. Also, getting to bed a lot earlier so I can actually get some sleep. I go to bed at 1 am usually if not later) and get up at 6, so not much sleep there.
The most important one is figuring out the best way to deal with my daughter. She is 11 and can explode at the drop of a hat. I am hoping really hard that a book I am reading helps a lot.
Hi there,
My resolutions are:
1). Run a half marathon. There is one on May 1st. I'm signing up today!
2) Do yoga or pilates on the days I don't train for the marathon.
3) Eat more nutritious meals that will fuel my body (and lay off the junk).
4) Spend more time playing with my son
5) Keep house clean and organized
6) Get to bed earlier!
7) Get out on more dates with hubby :)
Happy New Year!
Good question! Fun too - thanks for the light-heartedness. :)
Here's mine...
I spent this passed year being divorced, learning a new job, and having major surgery in the first few months, so the rest of the year I was recovering and retraining my thinking and habits.
This year I resolve to begin a new life and push forward in my healing.
I will continue to strengthen my faith.
I will excersise and keep in shape. (The surgery was a hysterectomy and my usual flat belly is doing lumpy things!)
I will stay focused and positive.
And I will put much more energy into my youngest daughter who took an emotional hit because of the divorce.
It helps to post things because then you feel more obligated to stick to it, so thank you J. B. :) Best of luck to you.
AMEN! And have a very Happy New Year.
God bless,
Deborah
#1) I'm going to stop yelling, and find a better way to handle stress.
#2) I'm going to spend more quality time with my daughter everyday, and lessen stress by not worrying so much about a perfect GPA at school.
#3) I'm going to pay more attention to my dog who has been very patient through this new baby thing (she used to be my baby)
#4) I'm going to start going to church regularly
#5) I'm going to start volunteering a few hours a month
#6) I'm going to start making time to workout again, and really work on getting back in shape
My goals are very similar to yours!
I recently joined Weight Watchers online and I plan to lose the extra 50 lbs I've been carrying around since I had my son.
We joined the YMCA and my goal is to work out four days per week.
I will prioritize reading my Bible everyday. It's all about scheduling - I've got to make the time!
I am with my kids 24/7 so I've decided that starting this year mommy's going to have some "me" time at least two hours a week.
I've been working on making my house more organized over the past year so that it's easier to keep clean and easier for my kids to help! I plan to continue working on this (probably for the rest of my life!)
Best wishes to you and all the other momma's for the New Year!
One word....simplify!!
Have a great New Year everyone!!!
kp
Mine are....
*Eat better/try new foods (mainly get my SO to try new foods, lol)
*Work out more consistently
*Start working again
*Paint my daughters room (finially put it together)
*Refinish our hardwood floors
I am usually not big on resolutions. I feel down if I don't accomplish what I said I wanted. It always happens when I put a number on how many lbs I want to lose and how many days a week I need to work out. I start off strong and just taper off. So this year, I will be satisfied if I get more active, and lose some weight. I don't care how much, just something! Lets see if this method of thinking works lol. =)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
1. read a book a month
2. get back to the gym regularly
3. have my kids help me make dinner once a month ( they love helping)
4. stay organized
5. spend time to giggle
6. make some time for myself
7. visit my grandmom or have her stay with us more often ( she is 91 yrs and in excellent health)
8. continue to teach my daughter to read
9. learn some new recipes
10. stop yelling completely ( unless my kids are in a dangerous situation)
11. continue to read to my younger 2 kids classrooms once a month at school
12. start volunteering in the library at my oldest childs school.
13. going to try to join the bible pray group at my church
I don't make any. I figure if I couldn't do it any other time of the year it's not that important...
