I had a GFC that was out and it blew the circuit breaker that had to be replaced. They came out quick. (I only called them at 3pm today and they got here at 6pm) But it was a very quick job. They charged $125. I figure the part was probably 25. So, it was $100 for the service call. Thougths? I am just happy to have my dryer again. 3 weeks is too long!

What can I do next?

I think that is way too high and would keep a # for a handyman that you like nearby if this happens again. It is not hard to do it yourself if you are that type. I would guess $50 would be my max for parts and labor. I have used this electrician before and he does great, honest work.

That sounds pretty standard. My husband is an eletrician and that is what they would charge for a service call.

That actually sounds about right. Most electricians (and other trades) charge a one hour minimum for the first hour, and the rate goes down per hour as the job takes longer. Plus they have the expertise needed to make sure that the job is done correctly. I think you did okay. Happy Laundering!!!

I think that actually sounds like a reasonable price only because you were probably charged an emergency fee for them to show up that quickly.
