What Is with the Multipart Survey Before I Can See a Question?

For starters, half the time this site kills my browser. It's really frustrating.

Now I'm getting a survey of unknown length that I must answer to continue to read content? What madness is this? Do you or do you not want people to participate? You're already covering the sides of my screen with ads and now you want a survey? Really? Did anyone else get blocked like that? It wouldn't let me read the responses to fanged bunny's question.

Ain't nobody got time for that. At least not me.

What can I do next?

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention AV.

I'm sorry to hear you are having frustrations like this when you are trying to answer a question from another member. This is definitely NOT our intent.

The short survey you are referring to is supposed to only pop up for someone who wants to read a particular page, but is not a logged in member -and even then only occasionally. If you are in fact a logged in member you should not be seeing this survey at all. If you do see it while logged in please let me know and we will investigate the matter to determine the cause of the technical glitch. To get around the issue in the meantime you should be able to simply reload the page to dismiss the survey and proceed -this regardless if you are logged in or not.

Again I am sorry you've been having this trouble and thanks for letting us know. If it continues to occur while you are logged in just please reload and private message me, or use the report feature, with the details of what happened and when (this goes for anyone who experiences this problem).

Thanks AV!

I haven't seen it either. Since I switched to Google Chrome and did that ad blocker, have to admit, I haven't had any issues with this site. This is on my PC. The only thing that sometimes happens is the whole page disappears - goes blank/white - and then comes back after about 30 seconds. Odd.

Love the "What madness is this" :) I hate having to click of figure out how to do something when I'm just trying to do what I want to do

Firefox with AdBlock, NoScript and Flashblock ad-ons - they work very well for me!

I get the same thing on my tablet once in a while. I hit skip survey and it lets me read the responses.

I have that survey pop up once in awhile here and with an app on my iPad. If you close out and go back in it is gone. But highly annoying.

You can scroll down and click "skip survey" - annoying but faster than quitting and reloading. I refuse to answer the questions, I just close it out.

They have to pay for this site somehow, so adds and surveys are the only way.

I get the Google survey screen too. I just hit the 'back' button on my phone or computer and then go back to mamapedia and the survey is gone. It's super annoying though!

Download Chrome and Ad-block, and use that to access the site. All that nonsense goes away.

I get the survey when I respond to an email such as a message that says I have a response to my question or sometimes when I click on the "read more and respond" in a Mamaoedia Daily Digest." When I get the survey, I click on "sign in", wait a few seconds and I'm on the full site. I don't have to enter anything. Either my phone remembers the sign in or mamapedia does.

I just got a new laptop about 2 weeks ago and I just saw the survey a couple days ago. Then I noticed I wasn't automatically logged in like I normally am and so I had to log into my account and then it went away.

I'm on my iPad and am not having any issues. I would not be happy if I had to answer survey questions though!!!

I have had no issues with this site, and have never been asked to answer questions.
