and you might want to throw in a toy or two and snacks for the eldest!

*I also brought a girdle and wore it right after delivery my second time around. It helped IMMENSELY with supporting my back and belly, and reducing the swelling. So, you could consider getting one of those (size it generously, so that it will probably be 1 or 2 sizes larger that what you would have worn pre-pregnancy.

I see Queen added it, but PLEASE don't forget your camera battery charger. Phone charger too!

Not sure if it was mentioned, but I needed lanolin when I was in the hospital. If you plan to nurse, have some handy just in case.

And I am addicted to my lip balm. Would be very grumpy/out of place without it.

I have to 2nd the cash, but I'd increase the amount. I was STARVING after my son was born. Actually went to take him to the cafeteria with me (good thing they have the babies tagged or there'd have been a missing wee one alert!).

*Black* pants (or whatever kind of bottoms you plan on wearing home). You get outfitted in the gihugo king kong hospital diaper style pad (mine were the size of a toaster, approximately). Y'only need those for a few days, but you really don't want to stain your clothes, or realize when you stand up from the wheelchair that you leaked in front from 50-100 people getting into your car, or anyone waiting for you at home. ((Same token, a towel for the front seat)).

Having curly hair, I needed hair stuff with me.

Lotion! Hospital air is always too dry for me and for baby. Definitely bring something to occupy your oldest child and snacks for him and Daddy. My husband often got stuck searching for a vending machine because he was there when the cafeteria was closed. A handheld mirror. Good luck!
