I need to find a takeout place here in Plano that serves brisket. I'm having a get together and need to feed 15 people. Any suggestions are appreciated.

What can I do next?

My favorite is Sonny Brians at Frankfort and the Tollroad. They cater large gatherings. My mother uses them for work. And I have eaten at the original downtown near Parkland hospital .They actually make a certain amount of food everyday and when they are out is when they close the doors. I saw them on a show of the best barbeque in the US!!

Randy White's did re-open a stone's throw away from where they were. They're on the west side of Preston just north of 720/Main in Frisco. Don't know about their bulk prices. They are our favorite BBQ place, though.

I agree with the last comment. Shady Oak BBQ on 75 and Parker has the best brisket. Shady Oak is also owned by Spring Creek so their meat is exactly the same. They do a lot of caterings and to-gos and their bulk menu is on the wall right when you walk in the door.

Spring Creek BBQ. I know there is one off of Preston by Stonebriar mall in Frisco and I'm sure there is one in Plano too just not sure where.

My famlly has eaten all over the DFW due to work and where we live. Dickey's by far is the best. The one on Coit just down from the hospital is the best one we have eaten at and they can differ where you go. We have out of town visitors quite often and they always ask us to take them there. The brisket is great but try their turkey breast too for you can cut it with a fork and is now one of our favorites. You won't go wrong choosing them.

I always use Red Hot and Blue @ Preston & Plano Parkway for my bulk ordering for summer parties etc... They always do a fabulous job....and they have the BEST sweet rolls ever! I always just call them and tell them how many and they help me with the amount to order! Very Helpful, Very Good Food!

Dickey's is great--ask for it "extra lean" and then it's perfect.

Dickeys is good and so it Red Hot & Blue. I see others keep saying Shady Oak. DH & I went there. The food was just okay, nothing to right home about. The bread they served was the best part of the meal. My recommendation, try out the restaurants first before you serve them to your friends.

Just a thought. THey have sliced brisket that is already cooked vacummed packed, they sell it at Brookshires and walmart that is so good, flavorfull and tender. It is the best brisket and my whole family loves it. they always ask how I cook it.
Its already sliced and cooked so I just put it in a roaster with a bit of water in bottom and cook some sauce on side. You should go try a small one and see for yourself. It would probABLY be cheaper and I promise it if far more tender than bbq Ive had in awhile...... Good luck. we get it at brookshires there in Mckinney and the meat dept folks will know about it.

We have tried several different places and Dickey's is the best as far as buying meat in bulk. It is really tender!

I haven't bought in bulk for a long time, so I don't know about pricing, but most all the Barbecue/BBQ restaurants around offer Beef Brisket as takeout charged by the pound. And, many already divided into Family Packs, if you want extras...like veggies and such. In regard to GREAT BBQ, it is mostly personal preference...my husband and I LOVE "Red Hot Blue", but I also like "Dickey's" and "Sonny Bryan's". The BEST I ever had and it was at a friend's home where she had brought it in to cater a party was from Randy White's BBQ restaurant. He had one in Frisco that I don't believe is there anymore. Not sure if he rebuilt/reopened somewhere else or not. We live in Valley Ranch/Coppell area so I'm not going to be able to help with exact locations. Hope it all works out. Take care. Many Blessings - L.
