We have always gone to Crown Center. It is really nice and easy to get to. There is also a Crayola Land. The santa also has a real beard. The pictures were very reasonable and the quality was excellent.
So, this is the first year we've had to think about Santa pictures. I really want a good quality photo of my son with Santa. Where have you all been in the past and had a good experience? Thanks!!

We go to Indep. Center every year to get ours. Like someone else said.....your son might cry...maybe scream! One of my favorite pics is of my oldest on Santa's lap at age 2....screaming! It was disappointing then, but a great memory now. So, go with low expectations. Also, maybe have you and your husband dressed for a family picture. We have done that the past several years to help the younger kids feel more comfortable. Also....depending on when you go be prepared to stand in line for awhile! Best of luck. C.
We've always had good luck with the Crown Center Santa - I have pictures of my boys with the same Santa since 2001! In fact they see other Santa's and say "that's not the real Santa - the real Santa is at Crown Center!" They have Crayola Land - a play area that leads right up to Santa. They will take the picture, and of course they sell everything from a 3X5 to key chains. They also don't mind if you take your own picture, which we have also done a couple of times. (Of course, you know your two year old will probably cry the first time you sit him on Santa's lap!!) Good luck and enjoy the Holiday with your family
We took my niece & nephew to Town Center. There wasn't a wait, the Santa is great with the kids, and has a real beard. My nephew was only 5 months at the time, and his eyes got pretty big, but he never cried. The Santa wasn't overbearing, he just let the kids warm up to him.
We always take our son to Crown Center. The Santa Claus there really looks like Santa and the best thing is that they give kids little gifts instead of candy. It is free and if you wnat you can take your camera in too. They have a playland thing that the kids can play on before they get to Santa. It is so worth the drive.
My dad has been Santa for a few years now and I can tell you that the worst thing you can do is make your kid sit on his lap when he's scared. Santa's HATE that. I know you didn't ask about that, but after seeing the two responses about the crying being cute, I had to say something. My daughters were scared of him at first but after watching him from a distance and talking it up for a few days before hand, they eased into it. I'm just afraid if you force him onto his lap, you'll make him scared of Santa for a few years out. Some kids just aren't ready. I do agree with the one person who said sit with him as a family, you can kneel by Santa and put your son on the knee that's farthest away from Santa.
Oh, and the best Santa I've ever seen was at Nebraska Furniture Mart. But then again, I haven't visited the places the ladies have mentioned.
