Where Would You Rather Be and What Would You Rather Be Doing?

After day 6 of my husband having the worst flu known to man (or so you would think), and being fed up of him having enough energy to do things like stay up all night reading and attend church this morning, but not to help around the house or give me a little break from the kids and himself) {Don't get me wrong I know how important church is but he was in no shape to go and wouldn't listen, so instead of staying home to rest so I could rest after teaching Sunday school, he went and was dying by the end}. Anyway, I know that was a lot to read and probably didn't all make sense, so where would you rather be? I would love to be getting a massage after running a 5k yesterday, it was my first and I am so sore. I would even settle for sitting in my car somewhere away from my family. I wish I could afford full time care...for my husband. What a baby.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hubby is feeling much better and reading (almost) everyone's responses was fun. I'm curious as to why some feel the need to belittle others when they are only trying to open up a lighthearted discussion. If you don't have anything nice to say, keep your fingers off the keyboard.

HONEY GET USED TO IT THAT IS A MAN AND THO THIS SAYS M. I AM VERY MUCH A LADY WOMAN PERSON. I HAVE BEEN MARRIED HAPPILY FOR 46 YEARS AND ONE OF THE THINGS I LEARNED EARLY WAS MEN ARE BABIES WHEN SICK AND KIDS THE REST OF THE TIME. WELL MOST OF IT-- THEN THEY ARE SO WONDERFUL AND SWEET I WOULDN'T TRADE MINE FOR THE WHOLE WORLD. GET THE BOOK AND READ "MEN ARE FROM MARS AND WOMEN FROM VENUS" AND IT REALLY WILL HELP. I'D BEEN MARRIED 30 YEARS WHEN I COME ACROSS IT AND READ IT JUST FOR FUN AND I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD SOME OF THE crazy things my husband WAS DOING. TRY IT IT REALLY WILL HELP. KATHY

I am just excited to know that my husband is not original. No one, and I mean no one, is ever as sick as he is. When I am sick, the kids still have to be bathed, and dinner made, and did you go by the cleaners......etc. I say we start a runaway club where we can scrapbook all day! No phones, no kids, no spouses. Where do I sign up!!!

Yes, a massage, girl's weekend, anything and anywhere really...I feel your pain. I was in the same situation Valentine's week when my husband was sick. Mid-week he went to bed at 6PM (Valentine's day). The next day he left work at 1PM to have lunch with his friend and got home from that at 6PM(I guess he felt better for those few hours), went to bed and then was useless all weekend. I wish I got to sleep and lay around when I am sick, but 2 year olds don't take care of themselves!

Hey Martha. I completely understand what you mean about men being babies. On the other hand, I had the flu three weeks ago and now its turned into bronchitis, so i can fully relate to your husband. At some points, i felt ok to cook dinner or run to Wal-Mart, but most of the time, i couldnt do anything but feel minserable for myself. I got major cabin fever too! even though i didnt feel completely good, i still had to get out. Honestly girl, just go with it and take care of him. the flu this year is horrible.
