Just read about a fun game you can play...it is winter bowling. Decorate 2L pop bottles like snow men and then use wadded tissue paper to use as a bowling ball. I thought it sounded like fun...have fun!
Hi Moms! I'm in need of some ideas for my daughters class party. It's a "winter activities" themed party for first graders. We have a craft planned already, but I'm hoping someone can give me some ideas of maybe a quick game or something we can do with the kids.
Thank you all for your great suggestions. Our party "committee" is going to decide which activities to do with the kids. I appreciate all your ideas, I knew I could count on you!

snowball fight with wadded up pieces of paper (need to set some boundary lines and blockades though); ice skating by putting kids feet in shoe boxes; making play-dou snowmen; sleding using paper sleds and little paper people; ice fishing using one of those magnetic fishing pole sets and a peice of material or saran wrap for ice; decorating frosted cookies
I have had several of these school parties. My boys favorite is using cotton balls as "snow balls" and either doing relay races, trying to keep the cotton balls on a plastic spoon or throwing them at a target for a snowball fight practice. It's great because they don't go very far and pretty harmless. They have also made reindeer tracks in modeling clay with toothpicks or craftsticks to etch them with.
Get some big paper or poster board and make a Pin the Carrot Nose on the Snowman game!!!
Make snowflakes out of folded paper, download some animal tracks and make a game out of identifying tracks in the snow, make up a winter bingo (sleds, skates, snowmen, mittens, etc.)
I was at a dollar store today and they had some cool crafts like snowman and santas andtree. Fo r decorating and you got like 12 per pack for a buck. Thats an Idea.
You can buy some clear, non breakable ornaments, some clear-dry glue, and decorations and they can decorate an ornament to take home. If there are any kids that don't celebrate Christmas, you could get some cookie mix and have them "help" make cookies. Give them a scooper and the bin of cookie dough and let them put it on the cookie sheet. Put some sprinkles out so they can decorate it themselves, and they can then take their cookies home.
tara; what about making snowflakes, you know the ones you fold a peice of paper and then cut holes in it? open it up and you got some sort of snow flake, what about the tissue paper art, make a shape out of card stock and then decorate it with small squares of tissue paper, you twist it around the end of a pencil, the eraser, and then dip it in glue, and then put it on the shape, and fill it in , and its a nice decorated shape, my mind is slow this morning all im thinking of is crafts, ahahah cant think of any games, however im sure once i send this message i will think of some, ahahah have a great day and enjoy D. s
