We did the YMCA too in Winter Park it was nice. Nothing too fancy but it was pretty and the food was great.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice about or had ever tried a mountain sleigh ride? I would like to take my kids (almost 6 and 3) and Grandparents over the holidays, but not sure which one is best, whether the dinner rides are worth it or not, or if daytime or evening rides are better. Thanks for any input or information you can share.

Hi K.,
I live in Jackson Wyoming, we have both a dinner ride, and day rides that go through the elk refuge. I think they are both really cool. but here (which is all I know about) the Dinner rides are really expensive, and come back kind of late. I bet the day ride would be better for the little ones. Sounds like either way you guys will have tons of fun though =)
Hi K.,
They have sleigh rides at Keystone Resort in Colorado during the winter and then hay rides during the summer. You can go on a dinner ride or one in the afternoon that supplies hot chocolate and cookies. We've done the afternoon ride a couple winters now with our relatives from TX and have a great time. The cowboys tell stories about the horses and about the mountains so it is really fun!
There is a restaurant in the mountains somewhere that offers a sleighride( genuine sled and all) and a meal, it sounds really awesome but probably really expensive! Try that Colorado getaway's show's websight, i think that is where I saw it. Alot of the resorts have horse drawn carraige rides, or a carraqige ride downtown. Keystone resort has alot of options, they have a Gondola ride to the top of Keystone mountain and a fondue that is really fun( and kid appropriate)
I live in the Salt Lake City area and a lot of people arond here enjoy going to Sugarhouse Park where there is a big hill to slide and sled down. The lines are long, but lots of people around here love that park. It's on 2100 South and 1300 East. When you get to the area you will see what I mean.
Around here lots of people also like the horse drawn carriage rides in downtown Salt Lake City. There are also fun winter events at Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake City. Sorry these are not exactly sleigh rides, but aomething you might enjoy with you family. Hope you have a good time.
I haven't tried it, but we have found winter activities are better for kids and grandparents during the day when it's warmer. Just a thought.
We have done the one at the YMCA at Winter Park. It is a great place for the whole family all year around. The sleigh ride is through Sombrero Rances. www.sombrero.com You can also get to it through ymcaoftherockies.com. We did the family fun winter weekend in December it was awesome. Lots of crafts for the kids as well as sledding and sleigh rides. The sleigh rides to cost extra though. Good Luck! Lanna
I'm with Brandi. Keystone (in CO) is great!
What state are you in? If it's Utah, the Hardware Ranch is fun as it goes around the elk herd, but I've only done it years ago during the day with little ones.
